  1. Thanks, I found a workaround and used AppleCommander. I think it's a bug in CiderPress.
  2. I'm busy having a few issues with Ciderpress and hoping there are some experienced ciderpress users out there. I have created a new disk image (ProDOS) I then have a new file called STARTUP containing 10 PRINT "TEST" 20 PRINT "TEST" And added in the file. The issue I am seeing is if I change the attribute to file type BAS, it seems to corrupt the code in that extra numbers are added to it. 20512 RINT "TEST" 20 PRINT "TEST" Any ideas as to where I'm going wrong?
  3. Thanks for the info - at least I know what it should be doing on startup. The power rails are good and I've checked the resistances of the motor. All within spec. There is no power getting to the motor. I will try and track down the schematic for the Shugart drive. I found the manual for Shugart drives and the schematic is similar but not the same. Failing that I will just have to reverse engineer it and add to KiCad.
  4. I purchased a Apple disk drive A2M0003 from eBay which I'm trying to get working on my Apple IIe I"ve opened up the drive and cleaned all oiled everything and slide/motor moves freely. New to using Apple computers so first need to check a few things. With the disk drive connected to a disk ii interface card (drive 1) I power the Apple on and the red light on the drive stays on and it makes a shudder sound for a few seconds. (Drive doesn't spin) Then press Crtl-Reset - LED goes off. Run PR#5 and it shudders again, LED stays on but again no spinning. Is this normal (Apart from that it should spin correct? There is no disk in the drive) I've tested all the logic chips and can't find any issues. I've tried looking for schematics but all the ones I've found so not seem to match the board I have. I've read through the SAMS service manual for the A2M0003 but it seems to refer to a completely different PCB than what I have. Can someone point me in the right direction? Also does this sound like a issue with the analog or speed controller board?
  5. Ahh brilliant. You guys are amazing. Replaced the 4116 for bit 5 and its working perfectly.
  6. I got a old Ti99 4A EU Version from a friend and trying to fixup a video issue. Read through quite a few threads and it looks like a common issue where if there is a problem with the 4116 chips then you could have some garbled video. I've looked through the troubleshooting pics and in my case the whole screen looks faulty. It looks like its booting up and there is some resemble to what the video should look like. Could it be I have more that one 4116 faulty? Maybe all of them? I've checked the usual things like Vcc, no warm chips, clock signals etc. I've seen some threads about possibly the 9929A being faulty. Any ideas where I should start with, start replacing the 4116's (I've got a 4116 RAM tester so can can remove, test and replace them) or does this look like the 9929A?
  7. Didn't manage to get anywhere with this so I build a AV mod and hooked up to my TV via SCART. Audio is now working and video a lot clearer. Guess there was a issue with the oscillator circuit. Probably L201/C205/6, but this is no longer needed.
  8. I've got a 6 switch 2600 (woody) that was having issues with joy0 (Stuck left) Replaced RIOT chip and its fixed the issue. The next problem I am having is there is no audio. Video is perfect, but with audio there is nothing, only static (Connected via RF) I've started poking around the audio section with a oscilloscope and if I press game select (Which should make a sound) I can see the waveform change on TIA, pin 13. So I believe the audio from TIA is good. I've tested Q202 ok, L201 has continuity , C205, C206 looks ok but can't test. What I'm not sure if what the waveform should look like around these components. On the b,c,e of Q202 I'm not seeing any audio come through, its steady 5V. Does anyone have a oscilloscope or know what waveforms I should be seeing around that area. Would be useful to know what to expect and what I should be seeing.
  9. Well it was worth a shot. Replaced the 4050 - no difference. I isolated pin 14 from the RIOT chip. When its faulty the ping goes low, when its working pin is high with nothing else connected so I'm guessing the chip is suspect. Found it on eBay for cheap, will have to wait for shipping
  10. No problem. Will get the scope out and poke around. I've got a spare hex buffer lying around so if is that it will be easier to get hold of that the RIOT chip.
  11. Thanks, was it the RIOT chip? 6532
  12. Got a Atari 2600 off eBay with Outlaw game. Powered up and start the game and have a odd problem in that with no joysticks connected its like the joystick left is stuck. I've tested the joystick in the right side and it works 100%. Plugging into left and it doesn't work, keeps on being stuck left. Weird thing is I managed to get it working 2 or 3 times after a few power resets. But now its stuck again and I can't get it working. Anyone run into this issue before. I opened it up and had a look around and don't see any obvious issues. Looking at the schematic the joysticks are connected to the 6532. Could this be a problem, but intermittent as it worked a few times?
