  1. Hi there! Yes ADS is still supported with the latest releases of all software used to develop and test for 2600 and 7800 games. I'd love to add some additional functionality eventually (better IntelliSense for both languages and additional 2600 dev tools such as playfield editors and better sprite color support) but otherwise this will be maintained ongoing. Once you install Visual Studio Code and ADS from the VSCode marketplace (via the in-built Extensions Tab) your ready to start developing. The front page of this post explains the basic process to create a file for batariBasic (using a .bb extension will sync the bB language automatically) or (dasm - this is not a user friendly process using scripts TBH unless you just want straight assembly and do the whole thing yourself). Once you setup your cart format and add valid code/loops etc, just press the rocket button on the status bar (or F5) and it will be compiled and if successful open the Stella emulator and run your game. Within your game folder a .bin folder will be created and contain your cart file - that can be copied to your memory card and that should be fully useable on your My Arcade Gamestation Pro console. I'd suggest starting with a very basic loop to test the process works on the console but using Stella will be more than suitable for the majority of your development period. Good luck and welcome to the world of 2600 development!
  2. Congrats John and Darryl!!
  3. Well done this looks great! I love the C64 version after spending many hours loading (off cassette!) and playing back in the day and this going to be a fantastic conversion!
  4. Thanks mate. Took a while to find something suitable. Yes had to have a Commodore on there - can swap it out for a Vic 20 or C16 as well.
  5. Thanks Steve. Just bought a Sega Light Phaser after seeing your pic - looking forward to having play now i'm finally getting my systems setup.
  6. Congrats mate! The little details you add to your games always set them apart 👏👏👏
  7. I saw one of Tim's fantastic presentations at PRGE in 2022 and also have his Art of Atari book - clearly very passionate about both retro and Atari (and an excellent speaker!). Such a great appointment! Having outstanding and passionate people at Atari now involved such as Tim, Al and Ben (via Plaion) really help drive the future forward in the retro space we all love.
  8. A new release (v0.9.6) is now available (VSCode and VSCodium) with the following changes: Updated 7800basic to v0.33 (Windows, Linux, macOS). NOTE: arm64 compatibility build remains at v0.29 Updated 7800basic keyword, hover and context help lists Updated Stella to v6.7.1 (Windows, Linux [Deb], macOS). NOTE: Linux 32-bit is currently v6.2 Thanks to Mike and the Stella team for the updates 👌 I haven't tested the Linux and MacOS releases at this time - I need to re setup my Linux install as I recently updated to Zorin 17 from Ubuntu.
  9. Thanks Mike for your ongoing support of your community tools especially our 7800basic 😁 Wow 10 years congrats and enjoy that cake!
  10. Thanks @Ben from Plaion @RevEng @raz0red and teams for your efforts! For the 7800 I've tested Ballblazer, Impossible Mission and Pole Position II (all PAL) and each appears to be is working and sounding fine 👌
