  1. Sorry, I don't have the equipment to dump the cassette. However, I'm currently looking to pass it on to someone who might.
  2. It has been well cared for up to this point. However, I don't have the means to preserve the data. I'm selling some other Atari cassettes and random gear on eBay. Maybe I'll post this and pass it on to a collector who can preserve it.
  3. lol ... I think both are acceptable in this case. Although, I do prefer "ensure".
  4. I came across this cassette-based program called Crystals from Dynacomp. I don't currently have a program recorder and can't seem to find anything about it online. The only info I found was a page on atarimania that listed the rarity rating of this cassette as a 10/10 ... so I guess it's pretty rare. Is anyone familiar with this? Thanks
  5. Good news! I checked my local hardware store for the adapters suggested by @Nezgar and @ChildOfCv. Sadly, I had no luck. I'm impatient and didn't want to wait for a package from amazon, so I sought out another television on which to test this 600XL. Everything works perfectly, as expected. No more video glitches. I'm still using the same switch box and wire that I was using previously so I guess the internal TV tuner in my Samsung television was the problem. Also, I ran the system tests and everything passes so that's nice. The memory test shows a single line of 16 blocks for the RAM test. I'm going to assume that means the machine is equipped with 16K of RAM.
  6. @Nezgar and @ChildOfCv, thanks for the input. I just checked the website for the two local big box hardware retailers that I have in my area. I cannot seem to find the right adapter on their websites. I guess I can order the one that @Nezgar linked from amazon and see how that goes. @Nezgar, I've seen some info about the composite conversion for the 600XL. However, I'd rather leave all the machines in as-is condition and let a true enthusiast do as they wish when I sell the machines. For now, I just want to confirm that everything works.
  7. I recently acquired a ton of Atari hardware and related components (multiple 600XLs and 800s, 810 drives, 1050 drives, a cassette deck, touch tablet, spare drive PCBs, commodore monitors, many cartridges and cassettes, etc.). I have the original packaging, manuals, and paperwork for many of the hardware devices as well. I eventually plan to sell all of it, but I'd like to better understand what I have so I can represent it fairly to any potential buyers. I was hoping I could tap into the knowledge base here and get some experienced opinions. Anyway, my first question has to do with the video output of a 600XL. Basically, the video is very glitchy as can be seen in this video (with sound): https://imgur.com/M68sa5c I tried swapping out the switch box (model # CA010112C), still same behavior. I tried swapping out the cable that runs from the 600XL to the switch box, still same behavior. I tried both channel 2 and channel 3 settings, both exhibit the same behavior. I have NOT tried a different television set. Has anyone seen this behavior before? It is a problem with the video output of the 600XL or are these machines just incompatible with modern televisions coax inputs? Thanks for any input anyone can provide. I expect I'll probably have a bunch more questions in the near future.
