1. Pac-Man - 11, E.T. - 5 So, E.T. is better.
2. Do you have a red King Kong? I'd say that one is rarer than the standard blue one. 1025234 Or a blue Jawbreaker. 1025267 I like to eat blue jawbreakers! Mmm... blue jawbreakers... (i know it's a game. I'm just kidding.)
3. I have this CD-ROM and it's very nice. In emulation, you get almost every title, except for Activision, which is hard to come by. Also, there's "Activision Anthology" for Game Boy Advance with 50+ titles, including a few hombrew titles and prototypes.
4. I can see fine, I just can't take good pictures. As for my reading comprehension, I'm new here. I know you put a smilie on there, but I just wanted to clear that up.
5. No, I meant the Pac-Man-type labels.
6. It's a later release silver label "Realsports Football" to be exact, and I do have a 2600 with wood on the end of it. As for the Berzerk cart, how exactly do I take it apart? Just split the side open and pull, or what? That's how I opened the football one. And as for the Football one, I'll go out and buy a dirt cheap Pac-Man or something and exchange the chips. But how exactly do you get the label off?
7. Here's what I want to do: I have a couple of games with broken cartridges. The chips work just fine when I plug them in. So, what I want to do is take the chips out of the broken cartridges and put them in non-broken cartridges. For example: my copy of Berzerk won't "pop back up", in lack of a better meaning, when I take it out of the Atari 2600. If I shake it, it'll usually fit in again. Another cart I guess was just made too big and I really have a hard time putting it in the 2600 slot.
8. You mean it's really hard to put them in blank carts? http://www.vgwiz.com/OnlineStore/index.php...2598f9a40181b2b
9. I'm sorry, I didn't know Atari Age had fonts on it. I thought it was just info on the games.
10. Could someone tell me where I can download the font used on the Atari-made 2600 cartridges (the weird one with a curved line for the E; R's, P's and B's not being connected, etc.) Either that or a look-alike font.
11. Could I take apart a cartridge, get the chip out, and put the chip in a new Atari 2600 cart? And if so, how do I do so? EDIT: I ripped open a thing of Realsports Football and realized that I didn't need a screwdriver! It's like it unscrewed itself or something.
12. When people say they have cartridges of homebrew games, I've always wondered how they got the cartridges. Do they rip open old ones and stick the ROM in there, or is there still some company that makes blank ones? I'm very interested to find out how it's done.
13. I'll spare you the indignity. Remember that scene at the end of The Terminator where Sarah Connor slams a pneumatic press down on the T1000's head and its metal skull gets squished until its one cyborg eye fades out? Sarah Connor is the reset switch, you are the T1000, and Karate is the press. 1024869 I've never seen "The Terminator," although I probably should, seeing as how it stars the governor of California.
14. Geez, I didn't know how good off I was. I'm going to Goodwill later today to see if they have any.
15. OK OK, I'm sorry I even asked! I *am* a newbie here, and don't know as much about the 2600 world as most of you, and just wanted to get your opinions about it. Although now I'm tempted to download a ROM of Karate. I have played Squeeze Box, and it's bad, but I don't know how bad to rank it. I just heard hearsay about how bad ET and Pac-Man were awful, and I wanted your guys' (and girls') opinions on it. I had no idea there were worse games than that out there. So, I guess you learn something from joining these boards, which was the whole point why I joined. And, I guess people would be entertained if I made a belt made out of Pac-Man carts. Problem is, I don't think there's that many where I live. And Mike, hands down!
