Hey people,
I'm at my friend's place at the moment, and we're wondering how to keep track of his growing collection of Atari Carts. To be more specific, we are looking for some kind of Database software made for collecting cartridges. Google sent us to collectorz.com, so we tried their "Game Collector" software. But quite honestly, it is not sufficient for our needs. We'll mainly need a few text fields like gamename, company, year, cart ID, that kind of stuff, and very important, a way to display cart scans (label and top), box scan (front and back) and one - or better two - screenshots. Export to external formats like txt, html, csv would be nice as well.
I tried hacking up some MS Access thing, and to my surprise, my ten year old access skills didn't fail on me. The actual problem though, Access seems to be quite rubbish when it comes to including images into the database.
I really want to avoid hacking up some Apache/MySQL/PHP web frontend/database, so: What are you guys using to keep track of your collection?
