Cruizin' FFT - The Hidden Room (Level 6) - July 2020

In 2012 Jeremiahjt was looking at the 6th level map file from Fractured Furry Tales (shown below) and noticed there was a mystery room to the upper right.   Many started to wonder the mystery of what was in this strange room.   While a warp door could get you to the upper room in the middle, no gate was found to get to the mystery room.   (I want to add, game producer Faran Thomason was asked about the room and was equally puzzled.)      On the map above you can s

Cruizin' AtariAge - Kitt'N Kaboodle Update - April 2020

[From the Vic 20 Version]   Hey fans of the Bubster, thanks to MKdoes711 we now have a nice manual for this game.   I've updated the first message of this thread with it.  Or you can click here to download the manual.   I've added pictures showing the development progression of the sprites through the alpha and release revisions, and pictures and links of this game on other platforms.   We've had some Bubsy fans on the Bubsy Officious Dischord server recently find

Cruizin' Facebook - Sponge Fox's birthday! - April 2020

Was on Facebook and saw that is was Sponge Fox's (Ginger Chavez) birthday!   Sure she's had birthdays before, and will have others after.  This is one the Bubsy Fan Blog happened to remember.   For those of the past, thanks for drawing Bubsy with fun, with purrsonality, and not as a meme, but with dignity as Bubsy.     Thanks for all the help in projects like the Michael Berlyn interview, the Bubsy comic book, and now with the Bubsy animation project.   Y

Cruizin' Home - The Bubsy Plush - April 2020

So in the past we've talked about the Bubsy plush that the Accolade developers had as a promotional item during the development of Bubsy 1 and Bubsy II.   And we talked about it in 2010, 2013, and this one and that one in 2019.   At this time, ten known in the world to still exist.   Earlier this year a Bubsy plush came up on ebay, which I went ahead and bought. A decade long dream come true.   And today with all the #Stayhome things going on...   ... I finall

Cruizin' Instagram - Art of Sponge Fox - March 2020

When I opened my mailbox, naturally there were several hundred messages I didn't ask for.  That is just the nature of my inbox, so I have filters to save the good stuff for me.   But I look through that sea of political messages, warning messages about spam, that are spam, and sometimes something I want will be in there.   And I got a message from Sponge Fox on Instagram.   And here is what I saw...     Awwww.... no doubt!      What an awesome picture.  And 💕 back to you old

Cruizin' the Interwebs - Sonic Movie actually good! - February 2020

I found it hilarious as I was reading in the Classic Gaming section trying to find information for my Arcadia 2001 that there would be this message written about the new Sonic movie...     I've also had other friends on Facebook mention that they went into the movie with low expectations and they were not shattered!   Really that sounds like a Bubsy line if I ever heard one.     So this got me curious as I heard the movie had a lot of easter eggs in it.  No appearances of th

Cruizin' SMSPower - Bubsy 2 for Game Gear - January 2020

In 2017 there was an article about the Game Gear prototype of Bubsy 2 that we posted here on the Bubsy Fan Blog.  Today I decided to take a look around and see if that prototype had been released to the internet yet.   And the word is, not yet.      Hey, you hear of things, and things appear after a while.  Learned this in the Atari world as we waited for the urban legend of Battlesphere for the Jaguar, Star Raiders 2 for the Atari computer, and many other wonderful games have appeared over time

Merry Christmas and a Pawsome New Year Bubsy Fans!!

Just wanted to wish from all of us at the Bubsy Bobcat Fan Blog a Merry Christmas and a Pawsome New Year!   Been a great year with a new Bubsy game that we all enjoyed, the Bubsy Fan Server as a great place to hang out, and a lot of love for the Bubster.   I think 2019 was a turn around year for Bubsy as the video gaming world found Bubsy with a Runner style game go from "insufferable" to "almost sufferable".    We love you man!   You've made us happy to see you again, and was awesome

Cruizin' eBay - Euro Gameboy 2 box - December 2019

Yesterday Kris Randazzo on Twitter showed a nice collection which lot of us Bubsy Fan Server goers were encouraging and chiming in on:     I complimented on how the Gameboy 2 box, the one of the lower right, was one impressive box to find.   I shared a picture of my collection, and got to thinking, what other variants are out there?   This is has been something I have wondered for two decades since I got my first Bubsy game in 1999 for the Atari Jaguar.   Tonight,

Cruizin' AGDQ 2018 - Once apon a statue - July 2019

** IMPORTANT UPDATE JULY 8, 2019 **   I believe it was in the aftermath of the release of Woolies Strike Back that I saw a cool picture of a Bubsy statue floating around on twitter...     It was pretty cool.  For whatever reason I didn't track it.   But I have found out the (possible) rest of the story in recent times.   First off the was donated to a charity event called "Games Done Quick"   For some reason Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC comes to m

Cruizin' Budsies - The Bubsy Plush sightings (and getting a plush made) - July 2019

The Bubsy Plush Sightings (Started July 5, 2019, updated April 5, 2020)   Currently we know through the interwebs there are a grand total of ten known Bubsy plushes from back in Bubsy 1 and Bubsy 2 development days that still exist.  We're sure there are more.   JennyN (mentioned later in this article) and her father, who worked for Accolade during the Bubsy 2 development, mentioned there was once a drawer full of Bubsy plushies at Accolade.  These plushes were handed out to devel

Cruis'in YouTube - Wacky World of Promotional Plushies - June 2019

Today I was looking around for future Bubsy Bobcat Fan Blog article information and I found a cool article on YouTube about some plushies that were a little obscure. I am proud to say that Bubsy may be one of the most rare video game mascot plushies out there. I've enjoyed looking for Bubsy merchandise, and I believe I will just try to build my own re-creation of a Bubsy plushie at this point. As we have been talking on the Bubsy Fan Server there are over 50 Bubsy fans on there, and natural

Cruis'in PCGamer.com - Article on Indie Gaming and Bubsy - May 2019

I bought my copies of Paws on Fire I went to the local Gamestop. I asked for Bubsy, and from behind the manager of the store had a copy of Paws on Fire ready for me. The manager knew because I bought Woolies Strike Back at the same place years before. As I was buying my regular and limited edition Ps4 copies he mentioned that for an Indie, mostly because it was a game under $50 unlike other games, the sales for the game had been quite good and he almost didn't have a copy for me. And so wh
