Hmmm... Forgive me if you've done these before, but I'll rattle off a few titles ... Since I'm here staring at the Kellogg's racks.

There's always the 7800 . Or you could get yourself a Jaguar and a straight-jacket. Or go real crazy obscure and go for an Epoch Super Cassette Vision. All of these things I don't really advise, except maybe the 7800.

Actually, you're right I have begged for suggestions before, I guess its been long enough that I've forgotten.

But I think this is the first time I gave a collection update.

 

I don't think I'll go for either a Jaguar or a Super Cassette Vision since I don't have the hundreds to spare on the consoles and the billions for the games. At this point I'm just waiting for a cheap enough 7800 that actually has that stupid expensive AC adapter, or to maybe find one in the wild, though that's incredibly unlikely and the price is probably going to be worse than whatever there is on Ebay.

Actually the first 10-15 commons for the SCV are on par with what you'd pay for 2600 commons. Then you have a few mid priced ones and a couple insanely expensive ones of course, but for being so uncommon (or perhaps obscure is a better word), it can be rather affordable to collect for, in particular loose games. Shipping from Japan usually is 2-3 times of what the actual games cost.

I had good luck ordering from Best Electronics recently. Their website and ordering methods are a bit of a throwback to paper catalog days, but they did deliver. Also I believe they have refurbished/reengineered 7800 power supplies.
