I thought to myself, "Self, I'm bored." What to do? Well, I could think about games I would like to make on the Odyssey². A sports game. There's a lot of them that haven't been done. I actually know a guy who plays lacrosse. I thought for a second about making a lacrosse game but decided against it. Then I was flipping through an old game catalog and noticed a picture of Basketball. That is a really crappy drawing. I think one could do better than that. So I tried. My result is the feature photo of this entry.

It took a few hours, but I got in some stuff, like drawing the court correctly, getting the ball correctly, moving it, being able to move the players, having a player dribble the ball. I like it.

What I think I'm going to do is put a possession variable in the game. When a player doesn't have possession, he can try to steal it by getting close to the player and pressing ACTION. And if he does have the ball, pressing ACTION makes the guy shoot the ball.

What I am going to do is study how the Odyssey² version of Basketball works and get some ideas of gameplay that way. But I know for a fact that this is going to be a 2-player game. I doubt I could make good AI. After all, this is the Odyssey² we're talking about here, not a lovely SNES game like NBA Jam: TE. What I'm not going to do is name it Double Dribble. I always thought it kind of odd to name a game something you're not supposed to do in it. It's like calling a football game "Offsides Deluxe 2021."
