The ET in this case stands for "Erstwhile Techonology." That's who made my Concerto cartridge. It came in the mail today. After a few problems attempting to get it to recognize my SD card, I finally got it running smoothly. The first game I played was, of course, mine. After a couple times of the game crashing at various random points, third time was the charm and it hasn't done it since. I didn't realize that package would arrive so quickly. The optional label that came with it is, well, I'll describe it as someone playing a 7800 on acid. It's very unique.

So now I can check out my 7800 projects (and anyone else's) on a real 7800. I don't know if it's me being so used to arrow keys to move the pineapple or what, but I find it much harder to guide the pineapple where I want it to go with a joystick than with the arrow keys. Makes one wonder if you can stick a Genesis controller in the controller port and play it that way. If so, I may find myself doing that a lot.

We got tons of mail in the mail today. And guess what didn't come? That's right, the card that tells my jury duty fate. But I think it's okay since in a previous blog I looked myself up online and saw my status had been changed to "exempt." But it would be nice for them to tell me via mail. And despite all this, I still can't imagine the 7800 just being a souped-up 2600. I mean, the 7800 still uses TIA for sound effects. Perhaps my next project should be "pineapple" for the Game Boy. I think the maximum amount of sprites it can handle is 10, so the most number of bananas on screen it can have would be 8, + pineapple, + papaya = 10.

It was really hot here yesterday. It finally got to be 99 degrees. Not 100, but oh well. It's still hot today, right now it's 90.
