Sega CD Nuttiness

As I mentioned on the thrift finds thread, I bought huge lot of Sega CD goodness. Well, I though it was goodness, but man do these games suck. Especially the movie-based ones. The load times are terrible, the acting is atrocious, and they are just pretty kitschy all around. I guess I can sort of see the charm, but I have been getting bored with these games pretty quick. So far I have played Night Trap, Hook, Batman, and Mad Dog McCree. I guess Mad Dog is maybe better with the gun, but I don't have one.

Anyway, here's a picture of the haul. Back to "testing."

Yeah, there are a LOT of bad Sega CD games.

I happen to have Crime Patrol, which is done exactly like Mad Dog. For that game, I had a friend come over and we played Crime Patrol for hours while drinking and making fun of the actors and pretty much spouting forth rants, non-stop, the whole way through the game. It may sound dumb but if you've got a friend that is into older games and drinking it can actually make for a very amusing night lol

Wow Phil that is a huge lot of Sega CD games! But best of all i spotted Infiltrate for the Atari 2600 sitting there...One of my favorites.

Try running a CD copier program on the games that have long load times. That helped me out a lot, and I just keep the copies in that giant case with the original (not like there isn't enough space)

That's a huge collection, but unfortunately it looks like a good portion of them are duds. I only caught a few great ones in that lot: Vay, Ecco, Dune, Flashback, Rise of the Dragon, Silpheed, and Robo Aleste (That's all subjective, of course, depending on one's taste). Batman Returns is a personal favorite of mine, but I guess you didn't get into it.. ;) There are a lot of other great games on the system, but unfortunately, whoever owned this lot before you spent time racking up a large FMV/novelty game collection, and there's only one or two that I feel hold up well enough these days..

Wow, I failed to notice all of these great comments. Yeah, it was not the best selection of games, but I made my money back selling the rarer ones. A couple were sealed, which really helped out. I still have the bulk of the selection and I used some of the cash to buy myself a Wii gun and Mad Dog for the Wii because I really did have some fun with that one.

I really have had fun drinking while playing these!
