new enemy, phase three

  • freed up enough ROM to add the two-section Magna Mines
  • fixed a problem in collision detection that could make the Magna Mine destroy the ship when it was still a pixel away from it
  • fixed a problem where "split" Magna Mine could appear
  • revised shot processing so that a single shot cannot take out multiple targets. This is to prevent the player from herding the Magna Mines together to more easily take care of them.

Man, the mines are a real challenge now! Much, much better!

I have a feeling that Space Rocks will be hitting Release Candidate this weekend.

 

I'll have to get with Al about holding a label contest for it when he gets back from PRGE. Nathan plans to replace my simple menu title graphic with one that ties in with the winning label.

One thing I wish the game had was jewels or energy pods or something that semi-randomly pop out of asteroids that you shoot. That would give the player a dilemma to either go for the object for extra points or let it disappear after the time limit expires.
