I go back to this one more than any of the others on the list (so far) for a quick game in Stella. To me that speaks the most about its playability.

The difficulty does top out after awhile, and if you have the early version of the ROM it will just quit on you after wave 84. I managed to get that far, but only once.

I still remember being wowed by the game's graphics when I first saw it. They "glowed" unlike anything else I'd seen at the time. Imagic had that particular look to their stuff, and it really came across on CRTs in a way LCDs just can't match.

Fug Demon Attack. Fug it all to Dell. I used to have nightmares where I controlled both ship and demons. Talk about redefining the word STALEMATE.

A childhood favorite, but it hasn't aged that well for me. It's quite limited in what it actually does and maxes out quite fast. Certainly Top 10 stuff in the given context though.

BTW: Most of the time I played the versions where your shots are synced with the ship, so you could 'guide' them into the target :)
