  1. I had mine removed, plus part of my intestine re-routed, after my pancreatitis. It's true that having the organ removed will make your digestive system more, er... sensitive. I can also tell you from personal experience that you don't want to fuck around with pancreatitis. I had been in severe pain about once every other month and nobody could tell me why, until the problem came to a head and I was rushed to a different hospital, which knew right away what I had. It took three months before I fully recovered, with nearly two months of that spent in the hospital. My point is, don't drag your feet on this. Get that second opinion if you wish, but if there's a consensus that you need the gallbladder removed, have it taken out or it will give you nothing but misery later.
