  1. It's Seasonal Affective Disorder. Everyone will be rainbows and lollipops come March, you wait.
  2. Even though Genesis got Slime World and Windows got Chip's Challenge, they WERE written for Lynx first....
  3. I can stop by our DG again and see if they have any left - if they do, does anyone want one? I'd only charge whatever they're asking plus sales tax + shipping (so probably around $50 total, if they're going for $40 at the moment). Failing that, they're going for $55-$60 on Amazon. According to the online fliers, the Genesis units and FB4 are all supposed to be $35 this week.
  4. The simple fact is, after a while the threads with pertinent information get buried, and even those people with really good Google-fu tricks up their sleeves sometimes have a really hard time finding the exact information they want or need. There's nothing that says any of us can't start a new, relevant thread, and there's nothing that says that someone with knowledge of the matter can pull together a summary, like fjc did, and possibly link to the particular details in particular threads. I don't want to get into a fight here, but I don't see what all the fuss is about either.
  5. Trying to get back on topic here, Curt, Marty or Leonard - have any of you tried Apple's free iBooks Author app for giggles? As an app goes, it looked like it had potential, but it didn't (doesn't?) import from pdf or PostScript so it was useless for what I was considering it for at the time.
  6. KA STILL has the ability to drive my mom, and now my wife, completely crazy! American...017, turn right to 090, climb to four thousand feet.. *PSSSHT* Roger *PSSSHT*
  7. I couldn't say how many I have on my 1 GB SD card at the moment. It would be easy enough to count them, but I have to get the device out of my wife's hands long enough to do that! This is what I get for loading Carmen Sandiego on the thing.
  8. Just for giggles (and basically to get a reaction), is anyone sending him a copy?
  9. Bah, what I want to know is, who will be reading the audiobook version?
  10. Oh, now THAT would be funny, Karate matches using backdrops that look like the successful finish of cartridges like Chip's Challenge, Gates of Zendocon, Electrocop...
  11. See? Proof that you can never have too many disk drives.
  12. Yes, all of us! Thank you! I really liked the customized paper wrappings, I didn't want to tear them or throw them out, much to my wife's annoyance! Our 18 month old is really wanting a butterscotch, but, I don't think she's quite ready. And the Atari Gum in a Joystick case is leading to all kinds of bad puns and double entendres around the house....
  13. Any idea how much these are going to cost individually? What's your minimum run to print?
  14. Yeah I had a weird Monday - BIG HONKIN box from Amazon (two 140 packs of diapers for the kiddo), flat box with a record album I got off of eBay, and then a box from an address I didn't recognize, but the dogs were VERY interested in! Too bad for them I only share candy with other humans!
  15. Excellent! And I stand duly corrected! Thank you emkay.
  16. What wound up being the price on these?
  17. Those themes were usually music played directly to the tv/monitor speaker. Kingdom had it, my Sears cassettes have it (they also use it to introduce the game in question), and that's how the Foreign Language/Educational Tapes worked. I would very much doubt that it's possible to have part of the tape/code make the POKEY do things while the rest of the system is loading data off of the tape, but hey, prove me wrong!
  18. Chris, don't take the label off, but that Dorsett cartridge is a recycled Atari one with new labels slapped on (I had two of those, so I DID take the label off of one). Someone was selling the Dorsett all plastic version not long ago, but more than I had money for. Oh, nevermind, you were talking about the tapes, not the carts. And here we start another thread, as my Dorsett tapes are in blue packaging, and yours are brown. So that makes me wonder when they started using which particular variation.
  19. I'm still trying to figure out my Secret Santa sender's forum name.... (Say that five times fast - Secret Santa Sender...Secret Santa Sender...)
  20. MIne was waiting when I got home last night, and hopefully my recipient got both parts of his! Thanks Secret Santa!
  21. And Android Tablet, and iDevice and Mac... Basically as long as it's not a Nook, you can read it. (Yes, I know if you hack the Nook back into a generic Android tablet you can download Kindle).
  22. Yep, it's funny what we'll go and buy for a complete collection! I don't even remember what we actually used as a modem in the '80s, but I know it wasn't one of the Atari ones! I've got an 830, 1030, XM301 and SX212 now. Still looking for an 835, though ironically, I have Telelink I and II without having the 835.
