Speaking of FX, A while back my friend and I were watching Battlestar Galactica which he got on BluRay. (I have it on DVD in the cool Cylon head). Anyway, We watched the episode where they fight the fire in space and when they're out in space, you can totally see the wires holding them "weightless". I began to die laughing and said was it always like this? He said, Yeah our TVs, especially being picked up on antennas, weren't high enough picture quality for us to notice.

I have one to use with SSB. It's pretty cool. Could have seen it being a big thing as a kid for sure.. The Wii U will do alright this Gen. Think gamecube numbers.

the WiiU has a LONG way to go to reach Gamecube numbers. Atm, it seems to become the biggest flop from Nintendo after the Virtual Boy. For comparison: So far it has failed to match the sales of Dreamcast. 2 years of WiiU, and it is still not near 10 million, about the number DC sold in that time. And with the system being 2 years old already, and having basically wasted its headstart from the competition, chances are veeeeeery slim this will become a success.

In the end, you buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo games only. They have chosen a path that makes it unattractive for 3rd parties. But I don't think that will work out for long. The Wii had strong system sales, but very low game sales per system, because the system sales were artifically high thanks to the appeal to non-gamers. The WiiU lacks that appeal, it's back to the core gamers... yet sales show tha Nintendo's games alone are not enough to justify a console for the gamers.

Even season 1 of TNG? No one looks good in those, good actor or not. If Shatner had the same level of writing and effects of Season 3-7 of TNG, you don't think he would seem better?

He might seem better, but still wouldn't replace his awful acting in the show. Sorry. Shatner got his due later but he was pretty campy in the old one.

1) Look in Activity Monitor, view all processes, and see what's running. See if something is hogging resources. 2) Look in Console, and again, see if there's something cropping up in the error logs that shouldn't be there (something repeating over and over is a sign of a problem). 3) Run Disk Utility and verify/repair your drive. Try cleaning your games.

Get a tight-fitting replacement connector, a PowerPak, and jam it it one time and see how good it is (That's what she said). Works every time I want to use it, except for Castlevania III, but there's so many other good games in the world I don't miss it.

Games (I mean movies) today aren't even worth their updates. Silly, nonsensical shit that you're bored with sooner than later.

The Anikin actors sucked. The youngest one was cast as a cute little lad having a great time as a slave. Then they immediately declare there is "much fear" in him. They took away the "ancient hokey religion" force and swapped it for a biological side-effect caused by parasites. The love story hurts my brain. I can only tolerate the third movie, but it is a struggle.

@DZ-Jay rewatching the three originals with my wife (who's seeing them for the first time), it's very clear that terrible acting is present throughout all of them.

I see the same thing on pro wrestling web sites where out of shape nerds think they can do better than physically (and theatrically) trained performers.

A lot of pro wrestlers could kick the arse of 99.9% of the population. A lot of them come from freestyle or Greco-Roman wrestling backgrounds and are also trained in Catch Wrestling/submissions wrestling. A lot of the pro wrestlers in Japan transitioned into MMA.

I saw UFC 74 in Vegas (in '07)...I won $105 when Randy Couture won! And I even ran into Keanu Reeves twice! It was quite a trip.

So this summer is full of major movies that bomb? Tarzan, Ghostbusters, Suicide Squad.. the list keeps going on.

@Cybercylon yeah. A good example is the old "hold the door" for someone test. I find it's at a point now, where only about 40% of the people you hold a door for say, "Thank you". Likewise, only about 30% look behind when walking through the door to make sure the door isn't slamming in someone else's face.

Drac: Perform is one thing, create music is another. Barring a couple of okay tracks, Snakes and Arrows was TORTURE. Clockwork Angels was only slightly better.

Well, obviously they could not reshoot the Scenes for the DVD release. Even with the Donner Cut it is still not how it was planned, because some Thing simply were never shot at all, not even test Screenings.

It's definitely interesting. Many alternate shots used. And obvious that they had to duct-tape some pieces together.

Donner's love for the material is obvious. That said, in a rush to get Lester's slapstick out, I found he inadvertantly muted some scenes as well. For example, Superman doesn't seem to have the same trouble fighting Non. Also - for all of Lester's failings, the guy could make pretty epic scenes when inclined and some of the cool parts are removed...

I think he removed the part with Superman teleporting in the fortress of solitude too, right? and how he threw a giant S-logo made of plastic on the gang? I found those Scenes silly even as a kid. Anyway, the movie may have been better with Donner, but even Lester's Version was still really good Overall. I love the epic final "Kneel before Zod"

Dave pretty much has never sung in tune live. Also he pretends to "forget the words". lol.. That said, the last record is very solid.

Well... last album was Live Tokyo Dome and it SUCKS!!!! My he mighty have Fallen. Dave is really to blame, horrific!

@NE146. Clearly I missed something about now seeing him in the 1980s because I'm not sure why people were so crazy for him to be at the front of Van Halen in concert. I can't think of a singer that's worse live vocally that I have seen. Wow.

With such a bad script and severe budget cuts, Superman IV never had a chance. Superman III was bad, too.

Yeah - the special effects really suffered. The first movie was almost 10 years older yet had better effects because the money was spent

No, I am pretty sure it means a piece of crap. That will have Selana Gomez as Princess Leah, the Rock as Luke Skywalker, Morgan Freeman as Obi-Wan, Jesse Eisenberg as Han Solo, and Asia Carerre as C-3PO. Or maybe, just maybe, they will make some decent sequels.
