  1. Actually, it WAS too long, but here it is. We apologize for the lateness. We have switched to a 3-week schedule due to a little thing called life. Unfortunately, this coincided with the 4th of July holiday. But nonetheless...here's the new episode! http://fab4it.com/piefactory/audio/PFP_Episode098.mp3

  3. Chapter 10 features a segment that's almost on-topic for AtariAge. In this episode: My SENIOR Year in High School - answering a frequently-posted social media survey The Mysterious Phantom Pac-Man Game - For years Sean has insisted that a sequel in the Pac-Man franchise existed, yet nobody believed him. The Doors Without Jim - What's the point? Well... https://schnookpodcast.com/audio/Schnook_Chapter010.mp3
  4. Wow...I, uhhh....need this.
  5. Yeah, the power supply that came with the 7800 I bought in 2007 is purty darn heavy, and the one I got from Best Electronics is light as a feather.
  6. One of the best investments I ever made in terms of gaming. Even good for 4-way games.
  7. Just listened. You need to have a word with Andrew about his pronunciation of Brian Colin's name.
  8. Ha! Eric Corley and co. also noticed how the letters were wacky, so 2600 actually published a book of nothing but letters and called it Dear Hacker. BTW...enclosed is the article I wrote that 2600 published.
  9. Glad to know Off the Hook is still going on. I remember a few years ago that WBAI was under threat of being shut down due to a lack of funds. I used to listen to Off the Hook (and Off the Wall) all the time and read 2600 a lot, but it just got to be too repetitive.
  10. Well, I found out why the video was fizzling out: It's just the stupid TV in my hotel room. For whatever reason, it can't handle the 7800's output. I'm in Milwaukee for Midwest Gaming Classic, and I wanted to play some 7800 stuff in my room. My main 7800 was at the Pie Factory Podcast table at the vendor hall, but I had my backup with me. After the show was over on Sunday, I went back to my hotel room and plugged in my main (and confirmed working) 7800...same exact problem. Tried my own TV that I brought....success!
  11. Just the title of episode 93 is longer than some of the tweets we’ve sent out. Unlike with episode 92, these two games actually provide us with something substantial to say…imagine that! And we hope to see you at Midwest Gaming Classic today! http://fab4it.com/piefactory/audio/PFP_Episode093.mp3
  12. So I have a modded 7800...the old school composite mod, RCA outs. After about ten seconds, the video gets very fuzzy for a couple of seconds, then goes out completely. Audio is still there though. I checked the solder connections, and the video connections are good and solid. But what else should I check? Could this be a voltage regulator issue? Someone else suggested checking the 7505, but....which chip is that??? The 7800 in question is, I believe, one of the last ones out of the factory - no expansion port or a cut-out for the port, if that helps... (Thankfully this is my backup 7800; my main one is still rock solid!)
  13. Okay, I think the podcast went through successfully this time! At long last, Sean is back with episode 49, about the newest game released for our beloved console! http://homebrew78.fab4it.com/media/hbh_episode_o49.mp3
  14. I would love this game so much if it used the paddle controller.
  15. At long last, Sean is back with a new episode about the newest game released for our beloved console! http://homebrew78.fab4it.com/media/hbh_episode_049.mp3
  16. Episode 92? Hey, what can we say? A new month, a new episode, a New Rally-X. (And, of course, a Super Xevious!) More info about the This Week In Robotron contest at Midwest Gaming Classic coming soon -- keep your eyes and ears open! http://fab4it.com/piefactory/audio/PFP_Episode092.mp3
  17. Oh...and we have a special announcement too. http://www.fab4it.com/piefactory/audio/PFP_MGC_announcement.mp3
  18. So episode 91 was released a couple of days ago. In this off-topic episode, Jim and Sean reminisce about life with their favorite 16-bit computers. http://www.fab4it.com/piefactory/audio/PFP_Episode091.mp3
  19. Well, okay, if you want to get technical... But I wasn't referring to the stabbing. There is an urban legend that won't go away that two people died from natural causes while playing Berzerk. There was only one. I remember doing some research (and using the benefits of my Tribune subscription, searched for back issues) on the second person who died while playing Berzerk and found nothing. Searched for the guy's name: nobody with that name died anywhere around the time it allegedly happened. The first Friar Tuck's heart attack was true; the next one was a false rumor.

BTW, those of you who can't buy the 7800 game for whatever reason - too expensive for you right now, you don't have a 7800, etc. - still, get the Windows version. This is a really, really good game and worth having on any platform.
