Punxsutawney Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter.

I hate to say it, but a sizable percentage of college students seem to be functionally illiterate. If you provide written instructions on how to do something, they often cannot follow them. However, if you explain it verbally to them, even using the exact same words as in your instructions, somehow that makes more sense to them.

PacManPlus is a great person and talented homebrewer.

After watching Baldwin's Match Game, which nearly all the questions are sex related, I'm hoping the ghost of CNR haunts that set. Maybe even with the faint smell of pipe smoke.

Feliz Navidad!

Boo. Cosmos was removed from Netflix. One of my standard going to sleep shows.

So I had a prostate exam on Wednesday. Yeah.

So, uhh...I'm getting a Vectrex. And the Sean Kelly multicart. Woohoo!

With no car, no money and no public transit, the next four days will be interesting.

If you're in the Chicago area and want a working CRT TV -- a friend of mine in Aurora (I THINK it's Aurora; definitely somewhere in DuPage County) has been trying like crazy to get rid of her CRT TV. Nobody that accepts donations will take it. If you're interested, please let me know. You'll have to pick it up.

So far I got b-day wishes today from Howard Scott Warshaw and actor Ed Gale who played Howard the Duck and Dink Dink from Spaceballs! Also got b-day wishes from Svengoolie,Eddie Deezen(he played the nerdy guy in WarGames), and Teri McMinn the actress from Texas Chainsaw Massacre... Playing more games now too. Some VCS and NeoGeo. ^_^

CREDIT CARD UPDATE: So I did pay off the balance on that one card (two more to go, and it'll be a while!)...it's a rewards card. My wife and I have been using it for every day purchases instead of our debit card, and paying off the balance every time it posted. Credit score went up 20 points! woohoo!

So every day my wife had to go in to work at 7am, as per usual. And every day this week, she wasn't allowed to leave until 6pm. Except tonight and tomorrow night, when she *might* be able to get out as early as 8pm. Oh...and she's a public school teacher. Remind me again why teachers are overpaid because their workday ends at 3.

Just realized that if I play my cards right, I will have a credit card completely paid off in the next few weeks. Man, that feels good.

Hard to tell. It's an Amazon card -- low limit, high interest (because it has rewards), and I got it as an 'emergency' card ten years ago when my wife and I were really struggling to keep a roof over our heads. I think there was a brief time a few years ago when I did have it paid off, but it quickly went back up again due to some circumstances beyond our control. At least I got Amazon gift cardage for using it.

It's surprisingly difficult to spend a $25 Best Buy gift card, because 1) They don't have anything worth buying that costs $25, and 2) they don't have anything worth buying, period.

Holy heck! Keeping a bi-weekly blog is difficult!

I don't get it. I use the phrase "fame whore" all the time, nobody bats an eye, but the *one time* it referred to a woman, I'm called a misogynist. Someone calls a bus driver a "killer" because the bus ran over a cyclist, and I said I wouldn't go THAT far as it's been widely reported the cyclist ran a red light, and I'm chastised for being insensitive yet others after me who repeated this fact don't get shit. Is there a guide somewhere as to what I'...

It has nothing to do with someone calling me a "name" -- I'm pretty immune to that. (The only time I'm ever offended by name-calling: being called a racist -- I was called that once when I was assigned to work security at a basketball game in college and had to wand down every third person who came in the door -- and being called a liar...because I'm not.) My issue is with people being hypocritical.
People not making any sense at all and getting upset because th...
