1. Hey Saturn, I hope you don't eat shit for that from somebody here but you are one of the nicest guys around. Rock on :-) Just had to let it go, when I saw your reply. By the way I like your reply to what Richard said on the other board. Now that I replied here I don't need to say the same thing over there :-) Greetings Peter
2. Oh the jealousy. Nah just kidding, as I said before it should better arrive a littler later because of my exam next week but on the other hand it's sounds too good to be able to play something "new" on my Jag so.....angel here devil there and I know how I will end up as soon as this baby hits my mail.....oh boy.... :-) I can feel the excitment of everybody who ordered that game.... Peter
3. But I'll do :-) No better spend the time packing stuff up than answering questions of impatient guys like me.....actually right now I should do more important stuff than playing games, so god knows if it isn't good if the package arrives later Peter
4. If you like Defender style games, Protector is for you. I must say that I enjoyed Skyhammer a lot more, but it all comes down to taste I guess. With Protector se you also have the bjl ability and a bypass card so maybe if you need those too..... If I had to tell you something about gameplay though I would go with Skyhammer. Maybe you end up with both :-) Oh and I still think that defender 2000 is better than protector. I am not god at these games for some reason, but i know that i was much more hooked to defender. Perhaps you wait also for someone else to reply since I am not the best advocat for defender games. Peter
5. I'm suffering with you brother. Seeing these people get their copy makes me anxious... 939924 Yeah especially after it took about a month last time when I ordered a game from carl. The box has been examined at the border. I wonder what those guys thought it would be. Atari Jaguar...hm.... Well can't wait. Peter 940037 Wow that's somthing I don't think about! 940166 I did not either. Guess they do some random controls or something since they can't check EVERY box, but aside from the fact that I waited so long and bothered Carl with emails, I thought it was pretty fun when I got the package which was cleary opened and closed again with the sticker that it was examined. Peter

7. Hi Carl, Well, I booted it up again tonight to check the credits and guess what? High Voltage is credited with the graphics on it. I guess they did work on it! Project is moving forward nicely, more info to come! Jason 938590 Well then those two Artist may be from High Voltage. Who said they have to be Atari Inhouse? Nice to know though. I wonder why they aren't in the credits of the finished game anymore....or maybe it's just their names and I didn't know them. Cool info. Peter
8. The character models in FFL always struck me as particular bad, actually.I wonder what it would have looked like with somebody else making the models, perhaps it was the programmer making them. That would be interesting to know. A badly created model can hamper texture mapping, and slow up the frame rate! Some of the poses unfortunately in the screenshots above make it look really bad, no worse than the release version, that had the same problem in shots... I really think the dark hell type backgrounds of FFL were unfortunate as well. The flat (no texture) shading of Sega Virtua Fighter would have worked for me. http://www.classicgaming.com/saturn/magazi...uafighter.shtml This screenshot makes Virtual Fighter look very similar to FFL as well actually, and it's one of those screens which works much less well that they sunny ones! http://www.classicgaming.com/saturn/magazi...akira_s12.shtml Cheers, JustClaws. 937843 The programmer's of both version are entirely different people from my understanding. The Beta version was done by High Voltage programmers and then after some bad previews in the magazines, Atari held it's release and brought it in-house to re-work it using the exact same programmer that is responsible for Virtua Fighter. The texturing was also done by to completly different people in both version IIRC. Jaysmith can verify all this of course, also, I can too, but I'm not at home at the moment. My guess is that the original Polygon engine was still used in the final version. I think it would have been better if they had let High Voltage re-work it themselves instead of changing programmers in the middle, even if the new programmer was famous, becuase he was attempting to re-work someone else's programming and he could have done much better if he was writing an engine from the ground up himself. If they are two entirely different polygon engines than they look strikingly similiar. Anyway, I know what I know from both reading about FFL being redone in Jaguar Explorer and also from the Beta rom I have that has High Voltage given credit in the credits and some of the screens, IIRC. I will post the details of the two versions when I get home and can check them both. I'm assuming the Beta rom I have is the same one Jaysmith2000 is releasing, the screen shots look the same. 937944 Cool, I am extremly interested in that topic. I don't know if I wrote it here or on the other forum, but you are the first person to say that the game was made by High Voltage first. This is very interesting if it'S true because from what I know it's only Francois Bertrand who did the game, got bad press from early previews, got two artist for textures and music i think, got fired somewhere in the process, hired again and finished the game..... That in short is the story I know... So let us know Gunstar :-) Peter
9. yay....forgot about that one. awesome choice. I remember really looking forward to that game. Peter
10. Hehe I thought you would come up with a huge list now :-) So what about the moves? Is the camera adjustable?( It always bugged me that they kinda let you ajust the camera but then it jumps back to some other position and not THE ONE you gave it), Francois Bertrand said in an interview that you could choose your own angle, but that is true only to some point. Ah to hell with the questions. Bring on the game and I'll answer them on my own hehe..... Peter
11. I'd really like to have something like Ninja Gaiden or Shinobi on the Jag. I think also Shadow of the beast could look good, but this game really freaked me out. I really tried to like it but it was so frustrating that I always gave up after some time. greetings Peter
12. Oh Ian isn't Gule anymore in this version. What a pity:-( I really liked the looks but the green uniform still looks better than the brounish in the finished vesion. Can't wait to see that thing in action. From the looks I would still say that this one is earlier as beta indicates which doesn not mean that it plays worse I guess. maybe it'S really the texture issue. We all will know soon I guess :-) Ay and thanks for the pics jay. Very welcome... Peter
13. Yeah yeah, sure whatever bud. Bob's your Uncle. Could you start a who would buy a MK3 thread also? 936761 Screw that, I've got my sights set higher. Would You Buy WWF Wrestlefest? 937101 Yay if it had four player team tap support or eight....hm....but actually....no :-) Hehe, just remember some night with friends of mine on a supernintendo and royal rumble. We had a blast but only that one night..... Peter
14. Sounds good. can't wait to hold it in my hands. Well more to play the game, but I'll keep an eye on the box too hehe. Peter
15. Yeah really that was a game I would not have thougt to get an approval.I would really like to know what you told them Carl. "Please take my money for uhm....200 fans":-) Guess it doesn't work without licensing fees, but I wonder how talk is held when the subject is the Jag which Midway for sure forgot about. Or is this version from the desk of one of the midway guys? More questions. One should write a book about all those stories... Peter
16. Hehe, yeah I just ordered mine too. And I am with you tempest. Almost thought....well if I am to order something from the states anyway.......but I had to hold myself back. Guess around 90$ should be enough for me.....for now :-) Peter
17. Funny you should ask, just last week my brother Pat expressed an interest in updating the page. He's been playing more Skyhammer lately. I know a few players have had game crashes, but I've never seen one myself after probably 40+ hours of playing. I completed all the missions in the first city and am part-way through the second city. Still, it's unfortunate that the game does crash in some instances. 936403 If it wasn't for that crash I guess I would be still sweating with the controller in my hand today :-) Well more power to him if he updates the page. But I guess if I order Total Carnage now, skyhammer will have to wait quite a while .....as long to make my frustration from yesterday forgotten hehe Peter
18. Oh man, don't tease me like that. Talk about the holy grail of Jaguar games.... 936489 I think we should do that for every unreleased game hehe:-) I am all for Freelancer 2010.....but Dactyl Joust would be fine as well Peter
19. Yeah same questions here, plus is it still controlled over the keypad or is it different in this version. Thanks for all Carl, guess you'll have a lot to do in the next couple of days hehe. Peter
20. Now that is awesome news. Thanks Carl. Guess I'll have to order one then hm...:-) Sounds like a really good year for the Jag. Exciting. Peter
21. That is an interesting game. Didn't like it at first, then I was advised to try it with better engines and weapons and things got a lot better. You probably know about... Cheat mode: Press *, 0, 9, 1, 0, 1, 9, 9, 3, # while docked for all weapons, 50,000 credits, and to advance to the next city. Nice to play with to understand what is possible in the game. 936343 Yeah I know that one, but I really tried without it. I even managed to get Engine 8 before the savegame crashed on me. Too bad. We had a german magazine which gave the game bad ratings in a Jaguar Special. I bet the only played it with engine 1. Too bad that the game shows it's powers only later. Although it has quite a few slowdowns it was pretty cool. Well like everything nothing is perfect... Peter Editet my text. It was inside the quote....
22. Hi whatever happened to the Skyhammer Players Page? I played Skyhammer again the last two days and stumbled across that page. Did your brother loose interest Carl? I really would have loved to have more hints and stuff. On the other hand, I figured out most of that stuff myself. Ah well just curious because I saw the (unfinished) page. If only there weren't those bugs.....I would play the game much more often. Peter
23. Does anyone , maybe Jay, surley know which version is earlier? Maybe we could contact Francois Bertrand, because I would be really interested to know which is which. From the look of the Screenshots I would say that Jay's beta is earlier due to less Texture Mapping and the changing of the characters. I followed the game through the press here and I have screenshots with no textures at all, then some like on the betas(with blonde ian) and then like on the released version(with bald ian). So I really wonder. And Gunstar said something about High Voltage started developing the game. Seems like everything sounds a bit uncertain, and I really would love to know the real story.....if we ever hear it. Peter
24. Maybe it's his own auction Peter
25. I would LOVE to see someone port Beats of Rage to the Jaguar, actually. I don't see ANY reason why the system couldn't handle it. This would be the best chance to see any kind of "Final Fight" type of beat-em-up on the Jaguar. 928998 Do you mean streets of rage? I know that I played that one with a friend on his mega drive or genesis for you guys and i really like it. Especially the two player mode. Nice one even if it's stupid to beat up the same guys over and over again but still a nice game though.....I wouldn't mind one on the Jag Peter
