  1. Hehe I remember that one. Did a quick Google search a few days ago and gave up.
  2. So this arrived today and I must say I am very satisfied. Sure it wasn't exactly cheap but then again what is here and it is doing what is supposed to do.:) Nicely packaged, even had a hdmi cable included. And the taxes also were less than expected. So that was a good start. I plugged it in an got rid of the pile of cables that connected my Jag to the TV, turned it on and was very pleasantly surprised. It is a much better, clearer and brighter picture than I had before. Only now do I realize that whatever it was in the combination of my cables and adaptor made the image dimmer and also fluctate in brightness a bit, if it makes any sense. Also the old adaptor always tried to force an 16:9 image on me which does one does not, so that is a plus too and it also just disapears very tidyly in my cupboard thanks to the HDMI cable being plugged from the side. I mean now I probably will try the VLM on the Emulator first but anyway this HDMI adaptor was exactly what I needed for my Jag.
  3. Didn't think of that, cool idea. But if I am going to play that game on the PC I might as well get it from GOG and play it properly with a mouse. But this might be a cool way to try another Jaguar game that gave me headaches witch crashes and unreliable saving.
  4. Theme park is good for a few hours, after that it falls apart. I really liked it but it has issues. As mentioned, no real saving of the park. So what I did back then is to leave the Jaguar on for a day when I had an awesome park but then when it becomes too big and you build a huge rollercoaster everything slows down and practically comes to a halt. And aside from that some of the dudes start to go crazy. Don't know if it was like that in the original too or/if it was intended. But some dudes start to walk and also get stuck in places they are not supposed to. The guys cleaning up don't stay on the route you give them and then you have to pick them up with the claw. And wandering guests can only be brought back by building pavement for them to guide them back. Lol I think I might have spent too much time with it. but also it was fun inspire of all these shortcomings so maybe it fulfilled its purpose.:)
  5. Yeah thanks, I followed that thread, and I also saw your posts. It is what it is, I haven't seen any other box like this and I really want to get rid of this cables noodling up here in my living room. So if I have to pay taxes on it, well... Also I have a 60 Hz modded Jag, so it will be fine for me.:)
  6. Got a mail from Stone Age Gamer, that the device is back in stock. Ich have a 60Hz Jaguar and really was waiting for something like this because my setup to play Jag right now is a mess with cables everywhere. Jaguar ->Scart Cable->Scart to HDMI Adaptor (needs current too)->HDMI Cable ->TV Looking forward to try this device.
  7. I was always so annoyed that the maps reset once you change the floor or go into the airducts. It's probably a memory issue but I didn't want to have to use pen and paper when you actually had a working automap. This somehow rendered the map useless, otherwise I would have been cool to just explore, come back with a higher keycard, go on... But this made you get lost too easy and then you wander through the empty rooms. That took some enjoyment out of it. Nonetheless it was an amazing experience... It just could have been even better
  8. One more thing about IS3 which is really funny: I took a look at the PSX manual and it has some really weird and random credits. I'll attach a screenshot but I translated them as well I thought you might enjoy it, I was really surprised to see something like that. Weird and also full of typos, quite entertaining Euro Electronic Trade thanks ... All employees of Telegames UK as well as Telegames USA for the support at the ECTS 2000 in London Olympia Marc Rosocha from Eclipse Software for his support with any questions about Iron Soldier 3. Mr. Kong for the great evening in his restaurant (21, Lisle Street, Chinatown London) Planet Hollywood, for the VIP Card, which I couldn't use this year (there was no queue). The typesetter for mistakes on our promotional poster. Matheus Müller Sektkellereien GmbH, for their branded sparkling wine. McDonald's for including the McXIKO dip with a 20 McNuggets. The printing company Paul Backes, for the quick realization of the German instructions. John T. Edelmann November 2000 Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
  9. Damn, already out of stock. I was about to go for it today. Gahhh, I'll wait for the next batch.
  10. Thanks for sharing. Always cool to see things like that.
  11. It's still good. It's really long ago that I gave it a spin. Now I wish there would be a part 4 on a modern system.:) I tried several mech games and it never felt the same. Even Titanfall 2 which I really enjoyed didn't give this huge robot in a city rampage vibe.:D
  12. Speaking of emulation, there was something I wanted to share with you guys somewhat Jaguar related. I bought IS3 for the PlayStation as I wanted to compare it to my Nuon version and while playing it I remembered reading about PlayStation emulators that improve the games. Long story short, I sat down and installed an emulator on my Xbox series X. Imagine my amazement when after some first unsuccessful and very ugly attempts I was playing IS3 at 4k resolution, filtered textures and and and ... Incredible, crisp graphics like never before... Needless to say I spent my evening with that game in awe and only missing my jaguar pad controls for perfection.:D Excuse the bad phone pictures but I thought some of you might find this interesting.
  13. Didn't see that but I stumbled upon a Facebook post for that video which described Fight for Life as a fan favourite. Made me smile.:) Haha, I just saw that it is the text under the video.
  14. Really nice demo, sweet graphics, atmosphere and great handling it plays very well. The insta death I had to get used to but then again you don't travel great distances. Thanks for sharing
  15. The game is playable on the Jag until a certain level after that you really wish for a speedier mouse control. With that said playing it with a mouse from the get go as Sauron says makes it instantly better.:D
  16. Yes this, although back then I was also looking forward to creature shock. But for the single player I imagined black ice to be mind-blowing for the time. And a multiplayer Battlewheels would have been fun for Jagfests.
  17. The box and the game came relativity close to each other, I think it was intended as a "service" by the shop I ordered it from in Berlin so we would not have to wait any longer or maybe a combination that just made their life easier since they might have gotten the boxes and manuals from Telegames and the CDs from Eclipse, didn't have to assemble the box and I already had another order going so they put it in there... No clue.:) It would be interesting to know how many burned IS2 discs are out there and when Telegames finally was able to press the CDs but the only people to know are probably Telegames. The CD version was definitely first though. Will check at home, I think I have a magazine with an announcement for the cart version...
  18. It was very exciting times also with the IS2 CD release. They had issues with the encryption and Eclipse did the first run themselves with burned CD ROMs with a yellow inkjet lable. I got my IS2 in two shipments, one was still unfolded box and the manual and the second was a jewel case with the game. It was a wait well worth it.
  19. I don't know the time when the cart was released, but it was marketed as a limited edition and the cart had a very simple silver coloured lable. The game is missing the cutscenes and the in game music.
  20. I think Soulstar was supposed to have something similar, don't know if it was implemented in the Jaguar version but I have the vaguest idea that there was only an option for 2 players... Just checked the Wiki for it: "The game also has a two-player cooperative mode, where the first player pilots the spaceship, while the second players acts as an air gunner aiming at the enemies."
  21. Just wanted to say thanks CJ, finally spent some time yesterday evening with Strider and Golden Axe, that was cool. But I also learned that I was way more patient as a child (the first Boss in Strider I had it better figured out when to jump). Still, seeing the intro and flying in with the glider brought back some really warm memories, there is something magical connected to these.
  22. Any news on this? Wanted to fire up the jag today and got frustrated over my setup having to go through a scart to hdmi adaptor, power supply, cables... instead of just plugging the Jag into the TV ? Open for testing, DIYing or just plain buying one of these.
  23. Strider! The other one I don't know yet. But with Golden Axe and that I will have to wrestle some time away from that life consuming Elden Ring run I'm on right now.:D thank you CJ, there are some really fond childhood memories stored inside those games.:)
