  1. D.Yancey...I woulda loved to have seen that video that you sent into Twin Galaxies for Stampede. That would have been some serious ropin'.
  2. i have tons of copies of Berzerk and most if not all of them say '1982 Atari' after the copyright under the pic. One of them though says '1987 Atari' after the copyright. Did they keep the year the same or change it every year for re-releases? Also, some of my silver label atari carts don't have those dust shutters covering the connectors. was that a production change in the cart design to make them more like other carts at the time or did the shutters break off somehow(even though it shows no sign or breakage)? plus...this is very un-related to the topic but i tried my copy of towering inferno with the controller plugged into the second player jack instead of the first and the game finally allowed me to play. it would not respond to the controls when it was plugged into the first jack.....none of my other games do that. is that some kinda glitch or what?
  3. Didn't see either of those in there, but i did see a copy of Fast Food for like $18, cart only. I pulled that one out because at the time i was trying to find that game in particular, and after seeing that price i stopped looking at his 2600 games completely. If things were blanket prices, that'd be great. But he's one of those guys, probably MUCH like the flea market dealers you mention, who really feels he knows what he's doing in regards to prices. So i imagine there are probably zero great deals to be found in that store. Also, to the original poster, i just noticed Lost Luggage in that list. Great find, i had that game when i was a kid and i've been trying to find a copy again in the wild for a while now. i usually find a few good activision games at my Game-Exchange for 3 bucks every once in a blue moon. I buy em even if i already have them....gives me something to clean and shine....plus i just am obsessed with activisions games
  4. i never thought of that... so if every row has at least one cow....no black cows will appear.. sounds like a good strategy...one where you can judge where the black one will appear
  5. i'd be the lone human in Berzerk....hardcore robot killin' for 100 years i can do that
  6. yea...its cool....i just hate waiting for the enemies in the later levels to come up so i can shoot em with my sideways gun...plus my copy of it is missing its label(the only game in my massive collection of atari games to have that...so that must count for something)
  7. man this is one of my favorite games but i can barely last 5 minutes (at best). anyone have any good strategies to survive longer. I try to stay in the center of the screen so it takes less time to go up and down to grab the black cows. that seems to be my only ok strategy that helps me last longer. please i need help bad....im even playing on Difficulty B and Game 1. the difficulty ramps up fast
  8. I am sort of partial towards Millipede even though I know I played Centipede longer. Millipede is chaos defined...oh yea more bugs=more carnage
  9. man...id get all my debts paid off.....and screw getting one or maybe two extremely rare 2600 games. i'd get like a huge lot of tons of common 2600, 7800, 5200, nes games etc. especially activision games. 400 bucks for 300 or more atari games. that would give me somethin to do over the weekend
  10. sorry...guys...cpuwiz has already hooked me up...less than 2 minutes after my post
  11. Anyone got a spare 5200 system with a controller and connections that they would be willing to sell for around 50 to 60 bucks...sorry i dont got a lot of money on hand as of now.
  12. do you think either of these are a little bit TOO much for a patch http://cgi.ebay.com/Atari-2600-Activision-...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Atari-2600-Act...1QQcmdZViewItem i'd love to have a pressure cooker patch with good ole short-order sam on it but i wouldnt pay some of those outrageous prices
  13. not a whole lot...but i still wouldnt pay it...cartridge looks perfect though http://cgi.ebay.com/ULTRA-RARE-Atari-7800-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. Yea...its in the top three rarest for 7800 but damn...some people just expect TOO much. Me...i wouldn't pay more than 50 bucks for any game- rare or not. I just dont make enough to go blow 2,000 on one game. plus, my girlfriend would murder me...seriously...i'm talkin' bout 'knife to the throat and gun in the mouth' kill me on a similar note...a saw a sealed copy of the original Mario Bros. for the NES on Ebay about a month or two ago. dude was asking for at least 1,500 dollas. He was gettin flak on his messages and comments so i guess he took it off or secretly sold it lol lol i was like damn...1500 for mario bros., i'm gettin it...lollol lol
  15. Same here I prefer Classic Im a classic game or if Im on my PS2 Im Modern Gaming Like your avatar HatNJ...Pressure Cooker is the best damn game around. I used to be a cook at a restaraunt back in the day but it wasnt hamburgers. Too bad they couldnt have made a sequel where they throw pasta at you. All hail Pressure Cooker (bows down to Atari game like an idiot)
  16. Well...I'd say the first game (which is IMHO the BEST game on the Atari) to get is: You guessed it: PRESSURE COOKER - hours of enjoyment Berzerk Seaquest Fantastic Voyage Dark Cavern Fathom Dragonfire Stampede (for if you want a REAL challenge) Robot Tank Cosmic Commuter
  17. My TV can convert if the system can... I was going to try. Ghostbusters II would still be around the 50-100 dollar price range though on Ebay so if you want to go for broke...I say do it. And if you have a converter...there are a lot of good PAL games out there.
  18. Ahhh I never really liked ole Indy's game...I thought it was kinda boring. When I first played it as a kid...I was confused as hell....I was like "This game sucks ass" and then slapped in Berzerk and blew off my steam on the robots Holy Grail wise...almost anything to me is holy. I would like to have the entire Activision collection CIB with the boxes in NM to Mint condition. Maybe a copy of Pressure Cooker signed by Garry Kitchen If I did come across a copy of Quadrun or either of Wizard's game in the wild...I would snatch em up without a second thought. Thats all fantasy though. Something like that happens to 1 outta 1000 atari fans in a lifetime probably.
  19. For worst label...just refer to everyones favorite man in blue tights...the guy on the cover of Megaman 1 for NES. I love and despise that label. It's just so ridiculous you have to love it. Atari wise...I like at least one game from every label, even Data Age ( I love Journey Escape and Bermuda Triangle...unlike many people). I would say Playaround has the worst games because who wants to play porn when they play video games...especially with atari 2600 graphics. The ONLY reason I would ever buy a Playaround game would just be for the collector value.....I know everyone just loves a good game of Beat 'Em and Eat 'Em
  20. Medicines are at the highest doses they can get I'm just a very angry guy on the inside. Plus, decaf....i gotta have my 6 cans of mountain dew a day. plus...i'm quitting smoking and i'm using some medicine called chantix and its makin me feel bloody AWFUL!!!!!!
  21. Yea...i think it came out around the time of the movie...'80 or '81. I pumped quarters in that thing until I actually won. I had sucky reflexes back then. For some reason they've gotten better and more honed with time, though a bit shaky sometimes.
  22. I love all my consoles just as much as the others...but i do dote on the Atari, NES, and SMS more than the newer ones. Games back then were always funner, always will be. But when it comes to new consoles PS2 onwards (I'll never get a Wii or PS3...I don't have $700 extra dollars lying around)...I think the best game made that has had me addicting and drooling for the sequel is Guitar Hero. Being a guitar player for 12 years, I decided to pick this game up just as a novelty. Boy...was I friggin shocked. I never liked 'Keep the Beat' type games until this. I play the Guitar Hero 2 demo like theres no tommorrow. I know the final song build is up and I'm glad they put Hangar 18 in it (big Megadeth fan here) but I was hoping for some more 70s and good 80s. I was really wanting some Ratt, more David Bowie, Foreigner. Also wanted more metal...like Dying Fetus, Skinless, Between the Buried and Me, etc. .....boy, that was a long Guitar Hero rant.....ATARI RULES
  23. Man...almost everytime I go to my local Game Exchange in Fort Smith to get some Nes or SNES games...I have to hold back some of my comments. Other than the fact that most of their carts are outrageously over-priced and look like a dog took a shit on them, I hate it when I pick a few up and go to check out...and the guy at the front goes," So, goin' old school today?" I CAN'T STAND IT WHEN PEOPLE SAY OLD SCHOOL...especially about video games. that is such an annoying and ghetto term. If I wanted to go "old school" I would go to a flea market and buy some extra copies of Combat or Asteroids...not come here and buy your over-priced NES games. And the other day, at the other Game-Exchange in Fort Smith...there were these two dudes looking at PS1 games and one of em kept sayin' " Ohhh...thats some old-school, right there." "ohhhhh old school gaming." I think they looking at like Street Fighter Anthologies, too To me, if anything is old school, it would be the old Pong units I grew up on. Throw in some Atari 2600 and Commodore 64 and NOW you got some OLD SCHOOL...(god i hate that term )
