  1. A bug. This seems to be the same bug on the javascript version that I linked to. If the two balls collide, the game glitches. I did get "winner" before it glitched, the white ball managed to make hole to the opposing wall. Is there a random element in the game, or is it playing the same game over and over? PongWarsBug.mp4
  2. That is fantastic! Curious to see what you come up with next.
  3. Edit ... This is the development thread for Pong Wars for the Atari 2600. Thomas Jentzsch is taking the lead. Fun project for someone. Pong wars. Add some audio similar to Super Breakout. Change colors based on which side is winning. Now you have a fun screensaver for your Atari. PongWarsSample.mp4
  4. I've rolled Dig Dug before. It does get weird after a while. You get beyond the levels defined by the developer and into some bizarre layouts. Anyway, I haven't rolled it this time around... having trouble remembering my patterns. Dig Dug: 450080 Space Invaders: 9960
  5. I'M BACK! Dig-Dug = 266030 Space Invaders = 7085
  6. It has been a year, but I finally got around to fixing this. The problem was the 500k trimmer pot. I bought a new one from this link. I desoldered the old one and plugged this one in. The new one was slightly bigger, so some minor bending, and it was in. Resoldered, then I had to do some dialing-in with a small screwdriver while it was running. I used Frogger for the fine-tuning.
  7. I'll stay tuned. I'm thinking of building something out of wood if there isn't anything developed by someone else.
  8. Permissions thing. Hopefully, you can see it now.
  9. Are there any alternate cases for Atari Juniors? This junior works, but the case is done, and I would like to replace it. Thanks!
  10. Try the Del key? You've always had two instances of Atari OS. That is part of the design is having redundancy.
  11. We should start a new poll. See how opinions have changed in the past couple of decades.
  12. Yep, Atari Mania is still up and running. Sample link to a game. Not only can you download the rom but they still have their web-based emulator.
  13. There are at least 3 Snake homebrew games out there. Might be fun.

    Snake game

Shooter game, not a snake game.

    Snake game

I was thinking of doing a snake game as a beginner's project. I had an inkling it wouldn't be that unique of an idea.

    Snake game

Other than Tapeworm, are there any other Snake games for the Atari 2600?
  17. I haven't played in a few years. I may have time to do this again.
  18. Just let the publisher worry about distribution. I assume you are using a mature cross-platform game engine.
  19. With the current VCS, you can reformat the eMMC 32 GB storage, blow away Atari OS, and install whatever OS you like. I did that with mine. I installed Windows right over Atari OS and added a 1 TB SSD. Made for a nice living room PC. I am really glad Atari made it an open architecture so users could use it in any way they like.
  20. Yup. CyberPunk 2077: 67.8 GB Caverns of Mars: Recharged: 615 MB The VCS only came with 32 GB of internal storage, so small games. I would like to see a new Atari with the latest AMD APU, but that market is saturated.
  21. Yeah, online store. That's how the current VCS works. Why would they change for the VCS 2?
  22. Install 1 to 2 TB SSD inside the console and call it good.
  23. Internal storage would be cheaper and easier to implement.
