  1. thank you. I figured that'd be the case, but I wanted to check. its a low cost, so I lost this time. I appreciate everyone's time.
  2. here's a pic of the inside of the cart casing. I doubt its anything special though, but I figured I'd ask. Heres the back of the PCB The metal is soldered on so I can't read anything on the chip. Also, yes, I was very careful when holding it to not.touch.the pcb.
  3. Thank you for your suggestions. I'm not clueless on these, but I'm not knowledgeable either. I played Atari 2600 games about 10-15 years ago, maybe more, so a lot is atrophied. I also didn't remove any pictures...? Looking upward, I can see that it was removed, but I have no idea how. I've reattached the image to this reply, I apologize for that minor inconvenience. I actually look into every purchase I make, but I appreciate your suggestions. With this one, It has no label, and it has no identifier, so I figured it'd be worth the risk as it was a low price. (it was like...4$)
  4. how am I supposed to know that there's a difference between Activision cartridges and standard first party Atari cartridges if I haven't had an Atari in any form for several years? Not to mention that the last time that I had one was when I wasn't paying attention to the cartridge sides or form factor at all...(I was around 10 years old) I didn't even know there was a difference. Rather than acting like a know-it-all, my suggestion for next time is that you say something like "hey, did you know that there's a difference between Activision cartridges and standard first party Atari cartridges? This is an Activision cartridge and the form factor differs slightly between the 2 types, for your reference next time, you can find out by googling or searching on duckduckgo "Activision cartridge" " or even: "hey, that's definitely an Atari 2600 cart but the grooves are indicative of an Activision form factor" no offense intended... Sorry to be absolutely clueless about Atari stuff, thus why I'm even asking here... I guess you aren't interested in whatever it ends up being. Could be another thwocker for all I know... edit: Sorry to be a jerk, your original message is filled to the brim with snark and attitude and I don't appreciate that.
  5. I don't doubt that its some regular game, probably is pitfall, but I've had similar winnings before. So, I figure its worth a try, and no, I don't have an atari 2600 at the moment. (example: a PS3 that I thought had spiderman as per the listing, ended up being something that I wanted to make a 6+ hour video series about the differences between a prototype game and its retail version.) As for your "C'mon, a couple of words typed into a search engine and you'd have that figured out but quick" statement, well... I also tried checking last night too shortly after winning the listing. Sorry for asking a stupid question after trying to do research...:/
  6. Unfortunately, from what I understand, That is the front. Heres the rear, unless I'm misunderstanding. I've never actually seen an atari 2600 cart without a label... Here are the front and back of the cart. I'm not sure which is the front and which is the back atm given it doesn't seem to have any label. The ebay listing said that it could be pitfall, or something else. It was that tired old listing trope of "its a mystery game......could be a prototype" so I figured I'd give it a try since it was only a few dollars. Is this an Atari 2600 cart? I've played atari on the 2600 in the past, but I don't think I've never seen those little grooves on the sides there... (favourite games are space invaders followed by river raid)
  7. I don't have it yet. I'll have to open it when I get it
  8. hihi, About a year ago, I started collecting prototypes on the PSP, wii, GBA, and ps2, along with several others. My most recent aquisition is an atari 2600 cartridge that doesn't seem to have an identification, and it may(though I doubt it) be a prototype. The label on this cartridge is a bit mysterious. Can anyone say if they've seen a cart label like this? or is it unique? Sorry if this is a stupid question
