I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared. Depression + anxeity + a global pandemic is hurting me mentally.

Is it it me or is AA traffic down quite a bit these past few days?

Suddenly everyone is using this virus as an opportunity to post condescending messages to wash their hands, like some snooty parent. C'mon you were posting memes last week.

(Deep breath, here goes) The Internet (for purchases) kind of sucks! Sure you have eBay and Amazon, but what else? Where are all the "other" auction sites? (And pay per bid sites with limited selection do Not Count). Ever see the ads at the bottom of ebay? Whatever obscurity you just searched for, there are now 6 sites claiming you can get it for 70% off! No You Can't!!!! Ever click? They are either Search Engines to Other Search Engines or they take you back to eBay like you've never heard of that...Didn't think to look there, even though that's where you just were!

I tried Mercari recently to buy something obscure for my missus, and, while I hasten to add this wasn't Mercari's fault, the seller I dealt with apparently wasn't interested in sending the item I purchased. Mercari didn't do very much about it, but did eventually void the transaction at my request. I know everyone hates eBay for various reasons, but there's a reason that none of the other auction sites ever gain much traction against it.

No one has mentioned the 7800 XM in a loooooooong time. Is that confirmed dead or? I seem to remember a few people took delivery a few years back.

Did I just do something potentially stupid and buy an early 80s Trinitron off eBay? Yes. Yes I did.

Beat-Em-Ups...the term itself, a construct. Did we just call them 'fighting games' before Street Fighter II happened? I can't remember anymore. The advent of the FPS forced us to come up with the term Shoot-em-up (shmup), since they hijacked the generic 'shooter'.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Lord Karnage?
I thought not. It's not a story AVGN would tell you. It's a CGR legend. Lord Karnage was a Lord of the retro games, so powerful and so wise he could use Youtube to influence the audience to love retro games... He had such a knowledge of the retro games that he could even get his video games from one guy in Qatar. The dark side of the internet is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his audience, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic, he could save others from death, but not himself.

Really depends on what kind of money you have to spend (sadly; a lot of the top shelf games are spendy). Rally is a good place to start... Maybe look at getting
Daytona USA (any version, but the updated Circuit edition is a little better)
Fighters Megamix if you like polygonal fighters (and it's better than Virtua Fighter 2)
Clockwork Knight if you dig platformers
Panzer Dragoon
Depending on how you feel about fighting games, there are tons of Capcom arcade ports and most of them aren't break the bank expensive
If you have it hooked up to a CRT, get Virtua Cop 1 and 2 and House of the Dead
The Saturn is a killer shump machine, but most of the great ones are REALLY expensive.

My birthday is coming up next month and I'm debating whether to drop the coin for a TerraOnion Mega SD or wait and see what Krikzz has in the works for the Mega EverDrive Pro slated for release this summer. I've always had good experiences with Krikzz's products, but the work TerraOnion put into getting the Sega CD audio on the Mega SD just perfect with the aid of FirebrandX and MDFourier is super impressive and I'd be a little bit surprised if the upcoming Mega EverDrive Pro is able to achieve that level sound accuracy. Virtua Racing compatibility on the Mega SD is definitely a plus too.
What do you guys and gals think? Is the Mega SD worth going for or should I bide my time and see what the $60 less expensive Mega EverDrive Pro brings to the table this summer?
