What kind of tacos would your aunt enjoy? I'm sure we'd love a blistering, in depth account of your aged aunt who hasn't enjoyed tacos for a long time and now has a new way to enjoy said tacos.

PS5 May Be Fully Backwards Compatible
dj_convoy replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
One thing I hope is different this next generation (assuming I bother, etc.); I hate having to install games on disc to the hard drive. I just want to pop in a disc and not have to think whether I cleared out enough HD space and already installed the thing or not. And yes, I realize the answer is "get a bigger hard drive,"... I did that, it's just something that really irked me about the PS4.- 106 replies

using a retro console as the basis for an arcade cabinet
dj_convoy replied to jd_1138's topic in Classic Console Discussion
There used to be ads for this kind of thing in old gaming mags, and I was always insanely jealous of them. You'd buy, essentially, a kit to build an arcade cabinet, supply a 19" TV and a Nintendo or whatever, and presto! Instant arcade. At any rate, these days, if you're going to go to the trouble to do this, a MAME set up as already mentioned countless times is probably gonna be the best bang for your buck. -
Pocket by a gigantic margin.

New OSSC successor in development
dj_convoy replied to derFunkenstein's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I feel bad for those who already invested a lot into the OSSC, but obviously this is a cool thing. -

Could Sega Save The Saturn?
dj_convoy replied to Magmavision2000's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I love the Saturn to death, but SEGA was plagued with too many problems. You had SEGA Japan and SEGA of America butting heads, the relative difficulty of programming for the Saturn, the lack of any real killer apps (not saying there weren't good games, of course, but there were very few must haves), and eroding consumer (and indeed, retailer) confidence. A perfect storm of problems that couldn't be overcome. -

Detroit: Become Human | Therapy Thread [Will Contain Spoilers]
dj_convoy replied to wongojack's topic in Sony PlayStation 4
My wife and I watched some streamers we like play this, and she quite fancied the idea of playing herself. However, Alice being an Android makes NO SENSE AT ALL and basically ruins that whole part of the story. -
it's more than I expected, honestly.

Plus, thinking critically, the handful of us with Retron 5s left already have this exact same functionality.

I like (some) Hyperkin products... But I dunno. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/01/this_cube-like_console_play_will_play_every_game_boy_game_on_your_tv Yes, I realize the Analogue Pocket will likely cost three plus times as much, but it's going to probably be there times as useful. Perhaps Hyperkin should have passed, this time.

The music to Bad Omen / Devilish is OUTSTANDING. That opening track gives me goosebumps. I only wish the game worked a bit better, because I love the premise. Much like Sonic Spinball, they had a cool idea; it just wasn't carried out to best effect.

Well, if someone is partnering with you-know-who, misleading is going to be the password for this project. -

What console would you keep if you were allowed only one?
dj_convoy replied to bluejay's topic in Classic Console Discussion
My knee-jerk answer was gonna be the Genesis, but after thinking for a second, I have so many cool compilations, RPGs and weird assorted whatnot on the PS2 that I would go with that.
