Yep, 950 jobs gone and 161 year old company closed in Adelaide today, marking the end of car manufacturing in Australia.

My first car was an EH Holden in 1977, I have owned several models since, drove past the plant today, there were several thousand Holden enthusiasts lining the highway leading to the plant, such is the traditional of Holdens.

Sad to hear it. There is a certain pride to driving a car made in your own country. Im from the US but know of Holden's and they made some very cool stuff, including some fun performance and muscle cars. Sad day for car culture in Australia.
