He could have simply done what was nicely asked, and deleted the info himself.  Rather, he said "No, I won't do that.  It's public and if you don't like it, get someone else to remove it."  So a bad move was followed up with a bad attitude.

Yes, I guess so, as for attitude, while FJC was looking for details to find Matt, he came across an old post (2020) I'd made on another forum where I bad mouthed him and a mate of his, it's a long story that's not for in here but just shows that I have my bad days. I've apologised to FJC (not his mate tho as he was the cause of the anger). Wasn't like the normal me but it was wrong and I felt he was owed a public apology. Since then we had been chatting happily, so I'm a twerp to sour the friendship.

  2. Ah, good... I only know of the issue with the green PCB like the one I have...

Not done the PBI on mine as I have a U1MB in the machine, so it's a bit pointless to do the mod even though for a person without the U1MB, it's a great addition to the cart.

That's pretty much a worse case scenario. Usually I get stuff within 2 weeks.

Good to hear, I've only had one case where stuff was mega early, normally it's bang on the expected date from the sale. I don't mind, I'm ready for that date, if it comes early, all good.

  4. Yep, it was removed by Albert soon after..

I can see where Gulsaluki was coming from in trying to point out where he was but everything bar his door number was posted, and I just thought "no, too much info". Me and Gilsaluki had a short chat afterwards, he was sorry it had turned out this way and just needed space. Hopefully he will be back, he's a nice guy.

But main point, let's see the return of Gunstar..

  5. Yeah I know Matt's address, we have exchanged bit's and bob's over time. Just wasn't going to post the details BUT it is all out there, for a few quid I can even get a credit, law breakage, and you name it report, but it's not my business so I don't do that. Just pointing out it is easy to get but my thing is to not post it. No disrespect to Gilsaluki, but I think also that albert should remove anything beyond he's in OK (maybe even that too)

All I want is for my old mate to say he's ok, as I would with all of you lot :)

  6. I've done a deep search of media of various types and there's no news involving him or his mum, no obituaries recently, which is great news. I just hope it's something silly like the lines are down due to the recent awful weather etc. Yep, Jon, that was one of his other haunts as it is for a few of us. He's always showing his restoration / modding work on there. Just didn't name it in case it came across as site promotion. It's Tim Klines site..

  7. I do hope it's a case of an Atari break Andy, but Matt isn't that sort of bloke, he's always up to some sort of modding or just doing stuff. He has a few restoration threads on the other forum and he just never stops for a breath :)

The two main reasons of worry are the terrible weather conditions in the area he lives in and it also a little remote from looking at the satellite view. The other reason as said initially, is his mother, she was almost dead a little while back, but managed to keep going. A few of us on the other forum were going to do a video group call and asked who was up for it and zero response from a normally vocal Matt. And yes, I forgot what his business is and yep it's a summer thing, let's hope all is well as can be.

Sorry for the OT thread, just looking out for a fellow forum member and old mate..

Hi folks, not seen Matt / Gunstar on here for a while, nor has he been on another forum we both frequent. I've messaged him, but no reply, which is odd. Bit worried that something may have happened to his mother who he looks after, she's been quite ill for some time. Last time he was on here or the other forum was the 22nd of Jan. He's a workaholic so it's possible he is just busy, but just hoping that someone has chatted with him since. I'd knock on his door, but he's the other side of the big pond from us in the UK.

    Cheers,

    Paul..

  9. Have you tried making sure it can write to the disk (under file / disk dives, set it to R/W if it's on VR/W)

It's very unlikely that it's Altirra directly (not 100% impossible, though), almost certainly it's config issue. I'll have a play in a bit and see what it does..

Edit: Just tried it from an ATX for the side 1 and an atr for the scenario disk, and it ran fine without any mods from a standard XL config.. Created a character and journeyed onward...all fine

This was on 4.10 beta 2 https://www.virtualdub.org/beta/Altirra-4.20-test2.zip There's been no big emulation fixes since the first beta, so which version should not affect it...

If anyone knows how a PAL receiver reacts hue-wise to a swinging colorburst that isn't aligned to +/-45 degrees, I'd be interested.

I'd help if I even understood what that meant :)

Joking aside Avery, even if a lot of the stuff goes above some of our heads, we appreciate the fact you put your time in to make the emulator the best it can be..
