  1. Hi, to summarize the keyboard mapping issues (already sent to RGL), that make using the computer impossible - in utility programs as well as in BASIC. Supposedly entering a new line in BASIC, with Shift + Insert doesn't work. Like I mentioned before, the Cursor keys work wrongly: arrows should work along with Control and they work without it - often it renders using tools impossible. Ctrl doesn't work, they say. As well as the previously mentioned Reset and Help.
  2. Hi, another program of this kind (Windows or Linux). It also makes CFG files with the best config of Atari 8-bit. DOWNLOAD: https://www.sendspace.com/file/1ake7f ______________________________________ Grupa Dupa (Mono & Yerz) + Hooy-Program (Hellboj & Yerz) present: ****************** ATARI 400 MINI MAKE CONFIG ****************** Coding: Mono & Hellboj Idea and constant whining: Yerzmyey The archive contains versions for Linux and Windows. INSTRUCTION: It's kind of simple actually - put the files into the catalogue / folder You have the Atari files and run the prog. (The program doesn't read sub-catalogues, so You have to repeat the action for each folder). In return You FINALLY get the the normal Atari 8-bit configuration on The400Mini - 128Kb of RAM and full-screen resolution (here: 350x240 pixels). (C) Grupa Dupa & H-PRG 04.2024
  3. TrogdarRobusto: > Just wanted to let the community know that we (Atari, Plaion & Retro Games) are seeing and collecting all the reports of issues and questions related to the joystick and passing them on to the product team. ------------------------------ Which is great and really appreciated. However, most of all, I certainly do hope You guys also are seeing and collecting all the reports of issues and questions related to the Atari 400 Mini firmware and passing them on to the product team. They are here exactly: https://forums.atariage.com/topic/364674-firmware-update-suggestions The machine gives me a lot of fun and been awaited impatiently but there are after all several bothering issues (most probably easy to resolve in future updates) like global config for the computer, full resolution of the Atari accessible from the carousel menu (display_start_line = 0; display_height = 240; display_width = 350 ) - and some other things. Regards & good luck. Y
  4. After consideration I tend to agree then; well - maybe still not 95% but Your're right, the amount of working soft is _vast_. PS: Just to specify, as non-corrupted files I regard files that normally work on emulators on PC and on classic hardware of Atari XL/XE. Meanwhile - other two update suggestions collected from people: - adding 320Kb RAMBO memory - adding two Pokey chips (so-called "stereo")
  5. I have a lot of fun with the new Atari clone, both with games & demos. What's important - only ~75% of the programs seems to work. When they crash, they most of the times return to the "carousel". Anyways, some important issues people report: - somehow there's no possibility to set up the machine globally. One has to set up machine each time to load next program. - the same goes to resolution - there should be global setting to set it up once and for all (in most cases - the highest resolution + Atari 130XE). - supposedly there's no Reset and Help on the keyboard? - the memory stick / thumb drive doesn't appear as the first icon (like it is on A500 Mini) and one has to look for it on the carousel. - sometimes Atari Mini "forgets" what was the last loaded file and one has to search for it on the memory stick. - There are indeed some serious troubles with correct keyboard mapping - it's impossible at all to use Chaos Music Composer 3.0 (CMC). Cursor keys behave wrongly. Supposedly the octave change should be done with cursors + CONTROL but seems like the CONTROL is pressed permanently with the cursors...? It prevents us from moving along the composition. - Except the necessity to add possibility of setting up the machine globally (same gfx config to all progs), people after all complaining about resolution: not a lot of the screen is visible. Whilst it's not _that_ much annoying on demos - still, it can prevent the user from playing games requiring a full-screen view, not to mention utilities. I hope it helps.
  6. No it doesn't. It starts on a stock 130XE and does not start at all on the Mini with 130XE config. If you don't remember, then know that things like this should be verified first before making any false claims.
  7. Hi, some very very initial informations about files' reading. We didn't test much for now (the comp came just yesterday, in the evening) but this regular ATR didn't start at all: https://a8.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=3708 It just goes back to the carousel. Which is a problem, as this particular ATR disk image uses standard, system sector reading procedures, so it is 100% compatible with the OS architecture. For example, it boots without any problems on real Atari XL/XE hardware, from HDD interfaces (IDE Plus, etc.) So it would have to be corrected. If the above issue is refined, then RetroGames should consider supporting less standard images, e.g.: https://a8.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=3633 Please add more examples of files that don't work, to help guys from RG to determine and resolve the issue. I will try to make more tests soon, but that's what we know at first. Regards. Y
  8. Well, it's a good idea to release the new Atari 400 fully compatible with the XL/XE series. For the collector (as well as fro the regular user) it's a great opportunity: the cost of Atari 400 is *high*; the additional interfaces and modifications making it fully compatible with the XL/XE series are also expensive. And with the planned Atari Mini we will have all in one - at once. I'm also glad they chosen this particular model (MOST beautiful design in my humble opinion). Along with the full 130XE capabilities - will be a great asset for Atarians.
  9. Thanks guys. ? Well, actually I don't even have any machine to play the game on, hehe... Still, it's nice to use classic computer music in modern productions (even 'though they look retro ). ...and actually there's one more, this time for STEAM: "DreadStar: The Quest for Revenge" Music made on Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, Sam Coupe and so on. https://store.steampowered.com/app/710220/DreadStar_The_Quest_for_Revenge/ Greetzzzzzzzz.
  10. Hehe, good one - but they only gave me a pass for downloading the game, haha... :) All the best, Y
  11. Thx, guys. DavidD: well, I actually asked them to add the computers mednioned above to some info, but I don't have any suitable machine to play/test the game, so I don't know. Regards, Y
  12. Hi guys, there is a new game for PlayStation 4 / Nintendo Switch / Xbox / - "RADICAL RABBIT STEW" - its soundtrack I made on Atari XL/XE, Atari Falcon, Atari TT, Atari ST, Amiga 500, Amiga 1200 etc. :) Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItKKVjUfAQo The game: https://radicalrabbitstew.com/ Regards. :) Yerz
  13. Hello, well - the keyboard procedure worked rather just fine here, so theoretically it should work fine everywhere. The coder - Bob_er of MEC might be reading this thread, so he might take a look into the engine, considering this subject-matter. As for the engine itself, it has been coded especially for the game (it was actually related with the one from Atari XL/XE version as far as I know) but I dunno - maybe it might be -reused after all. I will ask Bob_er if he plans to make it public. All the best, Yerz
  14. All: thx a lot guys. Davidcalgary29: Hehe, if You mean some 'physical' stuff like figures and stuff -t then I'm afraid I don't plan it, hehe. Regards!!
