  1. They've been playing those early 80's Lou Ferrigno 'Hercules' movies on Comet a lot lately. Have yet to see one all the way through, but they don't look half bad! Gorgeous women, nice sets, great special effects, decent acting and storylines... seem underrated on IMDb. 🙃

      Those films--along with Ray Harryhausen's live-action/stop-motion films--were grossly underrated.

  2. Just spotted an Atari 5200 in the movie Mr. Mom

I have a DVD box set of the old B & W ones,...Lessee the Complete First Season!  One of those nice Universal releases (Green foil, Hologram cover)...Don't think I ever saw Musters as a kid,  but I saw Addams Family a Lot!  I saw Munsters later on in life, probably when I had cable in my college dorm room.

For those, like me who remember Z-ROCK,  ...Been searching for this one a while...

Rob Zombie + The Munsters is a guaranteed watch for me! I used to love the Munsters growing up, and got my son into it a little as well a few years back. I honestly haven't seen that many episodes, but it's a fun show.

Nothing.  I've been considering a Kindle for many years now, but hard to justify when between my own books and the my saved wishlist from the public library I already have more on my reading queue than I can finish in a couple years... let alone the mountain of recommendations or interesting things the come in every year that add to the pile.  I didn't see any deals that stuck out, anyways.

  10. Collector's Corner last night... interesting he didn't own a real Pac-Man machine.

Maybe the microfiche at the library was already being used;   Probably by some detective who would later go to the office trailer and, by flashlight, find the files that prove his theory...

  13. Finally broke down... said F-it, didn't feel like going to get my haircut and bought myself a Wahl hair clipper. Tried to be careful and used the different extensions, but still ended up looking like this:

I've bee cutting my own hair with a Wahl for 20 years, no problems whatsoever.  I like it short for running, easier maintenance, and it's more comfortable in Florida summers.  I can't imagine paying for a haircut.  Historically I've gotten good ones, I've gotten bad ones.  The Wahl is 100% consistent.  Fortunately my bathroom has 3 mirrors so it's not too hard to work the back.  Lately I've started using a comb to guide an even line by the back of my neck,  and that's helpful.

You really have a hairy chest, arms and legs. Then again, I don't know what the current trend is for body hair.

I couldn't cut my hair even if I tried. I'd somehow cut a nipple off.

  16. Jethro Tull is one of those bands where compilations or "greatest hits" just don't cut it. Gotta go for the individual albums to get the best stuff!

    1. eddhell

      eddhell

imagine if they tried to cram Zappa's life into a single 'greatest hits' cd (over 50 studio albums, countless live bootlegs) - you can't even start to describe him with just one album...

    2. Atari Smeghead

      Atari Smeghead

I agree, Save2600! I'm a big fan of Jethro Tull, but it's partially because of Flat, Black, and Circular. Every time I would go to our local used record store (East Lansing, MI) back in the day, I would always find one new JT vinyl album. (and ONLY one new one each time, kinda weird.) It became a game for me. I ended up with 12 records, including the Thick as a Brick version with the fold-out newspaper.

Ha, was a tune on Aersosmith's Nine Lives I was referencing. Been enjoying that album a lot lately.

  21. Kinda/sorta (re)discovering XTC. Have largely ignored them for no good reason all these years, but am surprised how much I like 'em! And how long they've been around. Lots of great bands during that time, so kind of got "lost" in the mix, to me anyway.

Yeah, That drug is crazy!  I remember this one time waking up covered in Crisco with a pack of Big League Chew in one hand and a Lorna Doone cookie in the other and being asked to pull my pants up and leave the library...

  22. Was watching a walkthrough of 7800 BBCQ when lo and behold, I hear Gustav Holst in the later levels!

  23. $1.65gl for gas here. I actually know people (mostly seniors) who are driving around, just because they're bored. Not going anywhere in particular. Just driving.
