Thanks for this! For the price, might just give it a try.

Have to be hoenst - at that price it's almost worth it to just buy the iBuffalo SNES USB pad. I've had no compatibility issues and both of mine work fantastic and feel great.

Looks like those are $30ea though. The adapter is $15 and I've got 2 extra controllers already. Of course, if it doesn't work... ha Haven't bought one yet, but am really hoping that it at least works with a Pi3 setup

  2. Bless this "gal" who was at least 25yrs my senior... asked if I was old enough to be purchasing such things. Told her I know, some places have a "if you look younger than 40" policy, but she ended up NOT asking for my ID. sigh lol

I used to get carded all the time, but only once last year haha...And I think it was just to be nice after asking my friends for ID... ;)

  5. Just played a quick round of Golf for the VCS. Remember it was one of the first games bought with my own money & think I only bought it because no other game at Sears was priced so low. Had a hole burning in my pocket that day... never regretted it and still fun to this day!

I got a LOT of play out of Golf back in the day, too.

I didn't get Miniature Golf until much later, but despite its primitive appearance, it's also a fun game. Lately I've been trying to find ways to get a hole in one on each of the nine screens. Not sure if that's possible in the original Golf.

In the "Blocky but Good" category, we have Golf, Adventure, and Volvos from the 70's.

  6. Opening lines from eBay's Atari 2600 description: "This Atari 2600 console features a 128KB RAM that works with all relevant games. That is in addition to the additional 4KB of RAM carried in game controllers"...

^ Nope. Most of the MBX games used it as an optional accessory, but Championship Baseball was one of the (few) MBX games which required it.

Regarding the "Jab Gamepad" since both sticks and the d-pad all do the same thing, I find it very easy to choose even within the game which control option I want for a specific task. There are definitely times when I switch to the d-pad, but it is not as often as I thought it would be at first.

    4. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

@ arcade124 Yeah that's the one! I used it a little bit when I first got it, as I wasn't used to D-Pads yet I guess. Then I just put them back in the NES Action Set box and all but forgot about them until I read Nuclear Pacman's comment ;)
