  1. Hey all. Is there a way to run Steam games natively on the VCS, or will I need to use PC mode to boot into Linux or Windows to do that? Thanks.
  2. My reaction to the 2600+ announcement was to watch a few videos with people's speculations, and then I went to the Atari web site and ordered a VCS 800 instead when I saw that the price is currently $224.99 for the bundle.
  3. Can you use a mouse in place of a trackball when running emulators on the VCS 800?
  4. Well, I hope you're wrong about VCS sales being cannibalized by the 2600+. I ordered my VCS 800 yesterday. I went to their site to look at the 2600+ and decided I didn't want it, but when I saw that the VCS was on sale for $224.99 including both controllers I bought that instead. I think the 2600+ is a cool idea, but I already have all the 8-bit Atari consoles so honestly I don't have a really strong incentive to buy one. Maybe if my 7800 broke I would. The VCS on the other hand has always been interesting to me, but too much $$$. With the price almost down to $200, I caved and bought one.
  5. No. I don't have one. All I have are a handful of Atari controllers and a Suncom joystick. Maybe I should try that one.
  6. Hey all, I bought one of those ikonsgr 9 pin adapters and tried it with my Atari 7800 joysticks. I used it with a bunch of different games and it works fine (yay!) but for some reason it doesn't work for Dig Dug. I can move the player around, but the buttons to nothing to activate the attack action. Am I the only one who has seen this with Dig Dug? Any suggestions? Thanks, Carl Gundel, author of Liberty BASIC https://www.libertybasic.com
  7. As someone else mentioned, seeing what is possible on the 2600 with Princess Rescue, something similar and technically more impressive on the 5200 would be so outstanding. Something like id Software's early sidescroller Commander Keen?
  8. Hey Heather, I can't find any documentation on the various optional pin headers. What are they for? Thanks, -Carl
  9. Here is another blog post. I'm new to surface mount work so I wrote something about it. :-) https://microcomputing.blogspot.com/2018/09/ The video is still in progress. -Carl

  12. Oh, make no mistake, I have no issue with the packaging at all. Nicely done. :-) -Carl

  14. Thanks. I already have a case I am reusing from on old game cart.
