  1. Lonesome, Aren't you near the Hometown and Marshall's Creek flea markets?
  2. I'm from Pennsylvania as well Lonesome, and this summer off the top of my head, I've found the following: X-man Fantastic Voyage Cruise Missile SpiderDroid Snoopy Asterix Obelix Miner 2049'er Alien Crash Dive Flash Gordon Marine Wars Track and Field This is in stark contrast to last year, where my only 2600 find was a complete Halloween.
  3. I had about a month of no Atari finds until two weeks ago: Pete Rose Baseball Kung Fu Master F - 18 Tomcat The F - 18 Tomcat was the only one I did not previously have.
  4. I have a Sky Jinks that is dead as well. Coincidence?
  5. Isn't it better to just extract the tooth rather than go through root canal?
  6. They ran an article about this guy in the Scranton newspaper, but did not provide any link to the item itself. There was a photo of the guy in his warehouse. Unsurprisingly, nobody bid on it.
  7. There are no women who love videogames in Pennsylvania.
  8. Rob, My point is RT has a definitive ending while BZ has point scoring. How many tanks can you eliminate in RT with your setup?
  9. Robot Tank is the better game, and here's why: 1) It has a definite ending. Destroy 144 tanks, and the game is over. Battlezone (from my recollection) is based on scoring as many points. 2) Death Scene (already described above by other posters) 3) Weather elements - they make this game insanely hard at the upper levels. My top score is at 78, but once you get into the 30's, fighting in any poor weather conditions is a severe disadvantage, so it requires 4) Patience - once you get past the early rounds, you have to wait until the weather clears. Even then, when you are on the 5th or 6th round of 12, the computer can easily shoot up 2 to 3 of your tanks in a matter of seconds. 5) Bonus tank - you get one per completion of a round, and the screen gives a much needed pause. The idea of the bonus tank is not now, but it is achieved after destroying a level of 12 enemy tanks. Disclaimer: I played Robot Tank before Battlezone, put much more time into the former than the latter.
  10. Snider, Back that train up a bit. Not only does your wife allow your habit, but she GOES to place with you? "Didn't you always tell me to look in boxes?" You have got to be BS'ing us. I have had S.O.'s say "it's either me or the games." I've never had one willing to go anywhere to look for them much less help out. I've been knocked for running around early Sunday mornings in search of the Holy Grail. He's making this up.

    I bought mine for $5.00.
  12. I used to live in Pittsburgh and I remember Groovy or whatever it was called. They used to sell videotapes of the Superfriends as well.
  13. You just stand under the house on the right and grab the bullets. Elmer will begin walking back to the left house and will reload. Let him walk about 1/2 way back towards you and grab them again. As the game speeds up, it does not always work. However, in the early stages, you should be able to do it without any trouble.

  15. I am Numan, and I can explain the confusion. When I discovered the Easter Egg, I was aware that there was a contest, but did not know the particulars of it. I did want to be the first to discover it, so I e-mailed atariage.com. But then after thinking about it, it made sense to e-mail Atari2600.com, so I did after hopping on to their web site and seeing that the I discovered the horse after the barn door had been closed, but deciding to be the first anyway. While at the Philly Classic, it seemed to me alot of the people there were members of these message boards, so I decided to join them (and use the username I have on gamefaqs.com) and post my findings here as well. As to how it was discovered, I did play the game at the PC3 with the gentleman (whom I now presume is Joe Cody) from Atari2600.com in two player mode. While he was Elmer and shooting me repeatedly, he did make mention that the real points were by grabbing the bullets. Now I knew from playing the early version, you could not grab the bullets, but I was too busy being shot to really make a move on the bullets. So I went home Saturday night, woke up the next morning and decided to play some Bugs Bunny. I did notice I was not getting any major points by just jumping through the hole, so I remembered the previous statement, and figured out that had to be the way to get the initials. I then proceed to just stand under the house and grab the bullets and make Elmer walk back to reload. I did that until my score was about 5,000 or so then continued on in the game past the first intermission. What then happened is that as Elmer became faster, he would not walk back to the house opposite but to the one I was under (on the right). As a result, I had to jump over to the left side from the right side. So while I'm jumping to and fro I hear the sound of me being shot as I'm on the left side, Bugs kneels/lies down, and there go the initials. It only lasts for a second or two. So the game ends and I try it again, only this time not hogging the points but clearing the boards to the first intermission straight through and then doing the repeated jumps when Elmer is running really fast, and it happened again.
  16. Also, both times I've left at least one carrot from the lower levels in place before going to the top level. The reason is because when you steal the bullets, the remaining carrots begin flashing and the music stops. I thought maybe that had something to do with it.
  17. Ataripitbull, I was standing right next to you when you bought the Polo carts. I thought I was S.O.L. until Cassidy discovered he had one complete Polo and two loose Polos left.
  18. All I know is that it's happened to me twice. Both times it was after the first intermission (I've seen three now, and they are all the same). Both times it was on the top level. Both times Elmer was moving really fast, but I wasn't watching him, I was trying to grab the bullets. Sometimes when you are right under the house and press the button, Bugs does a jump to the other side of the screen and not grab the bullets. I was jumping back and forth, right to left and vice versa. At some point I was shot, Bugs did the lie down and the initials pop up. It only stays there for a second or two. I do know that sometimes Elmer will warp as well. I do not have a specific technique (in terms of number of times to jump) for getting the initials, except that it has happened while I'm trying to grab the bullets and jumping from the edges. I figured the idea was related to the bullets because while I was playing with the gentleman from Atari2600.com (he was Elmer), he kept saying the major points were gained by grabbing the bullets. I may not have been clear on my original post, but all I was doing was jumping via the warp from one house to the other to get the bullets. While doing that, on the left side of the screen I was shot. I believe I was shot immediately after my jump from the right edge of the screen to the left edge of the screen. Maybe I moved a little to the right first.
  19. They did. They auctioned off badge number 1001.
  20. Although it is too late, I found it (the initials) today by jumping through the edges of the screen, stealing the bullets, and being shot by Elmer right after a jump from the right edge to the left edge.
