  1. Ok so how do i do that? I can take pics of the PCB I'm looking for a USA PSU schematic but can't find one
  2. Ok thanks for your reply So would this work then? Ultimately this must be how the USA SC1224 works
  3. OK so i have an original UK 240v SC 1224 colour monitor and the PSU blew a long time ago and it's not repairable and they don't exist to replace I do have a new 110v USA PSU which i can fit in place but obviously there is the voltage difference However the voltage outputs of the PSU would likely be the same as i can see the output connections are the same on both UK and USA PSU's with same coloured wires and plugs, just in different places! The only difference is the UK on/off rotary switch has 4 x wires (live and neutral IN and then live and neutral OUT) and the USA on/off rotary switch has 2 x wires with a capacitor across the 2 terminals I have a USA rotary switch also So what i'm asking is, if i fit the USA PSU with USA on/off switch and use a 110v step down transformer to power the monitor then would it work? Obviously i am just looking at all this carefully first before i attempt to plug anything in at all Any advice would be appreciated thanks
  4. Max2000 I don't suppose you could post some pics of where the wires go to on the main PCB? eg: the red and green plug at the end of the PSU pic, it would be helpful to see where they go on the board Thanks!
  5. Thanks but i have that manual and it's not a lot of help for what i need I basically have a UK model SC 1224 with a totally dead and non repairable PSU They are unavailable on planet earth from what ive found and there is no info online that relates to the part numbers, it is truly obsolete! Anyway i managed to source a NEW USA 110/117V PSU so what i want to do is fit this USA PSU into my UK sc 1224 as i believe the output voltages should be the same I just need to be 110% sure of everything Hence wanting a schemetic of the USA PSU or at least the output voltages to be sure of everything before i attempt to test
  6. I'm looking for the service manual for the Goldstar SC 1224 colour monitor I can only find the UK/Europe 220/240V manual online I basically need the schematic for the PSU but the whole manual would be handy if anyone knows where to find it Thanks
  7. No the PSU connections inside the monitor I need to see all the white plug connectors and the colour wires at the end of the PSU When you remove the SC 1224 rear plastic cover with the screen facing away from you On the left hand side of the monitor is the PSU (Power Supply Unit) I just need a picture of the top of this
  8. Anyone in the USA or with a USA 110/117V model SC 1224 colour monitor with Goldstar tube / PSU Could you post a picture please of the open end of the PSU where the wire connections plug into it, there are a few with white plugs I need to see the colours of the wires and even better where they go! Only a USA 110/117V model please (no UK or European 220/240V types as they are different) If anyone can help that would be great
  9. Well i'm going to change U38 then as it's easy, just purchased the part But personally i don't think it's that as the green light is on and good voltages over the board, but who knows eh? I am amazed though that there is so little about Jaguar repairs on the net compared to other Atari consoles...
  10. Trying to repair a Jaguar i recently picked up which doesn't work It has the original Jaguar PSU and that works ok and has the correct voltage I have cleaned and cleaned the cartridge port and game cart contacts, they are both gold and clean! Power on the jaguar stripped down to bare motherboard Green light illuminated with game inserted - black screen, nothing more, tried this many times with different games I can hear this high pitch buzzing / hissing sound from around the CPU area, nothing getting hot around there I don't know it's history but it was bought new and is boxed so i don't assume it has had the wrong power adaptor inserted I have looked for the usual U38 / REG 1 / Capacitor blown issue and there are no signs of damage on this machine Is there anything else i can test? I have tested voltages around the CPU and they are 5v so i don't think the console has a power issue Any ideas?
