  1. Email sent. I hope to is will and answers. fingers X'd.......
  2. Here is the manual i was able to borrow from Bob1200XL. The pictures are a bit hard to see, but the descriptions are pretty good. I OCR'd the file too. I have the disk for this too. But I do not have a 800 set up just now to make an ATR of it. But I will soon. Mosaic 64K Ram Select Owner's Manual.pdf
  3. Hello, I just found a near complete run of the large format newspaper style ST Informer issues from from May 1987 to Dec 1991. The May 87 shows Charter Issue on left of banner and Complimentary Copy on the right. From reading it I think this is the first issue. There are a few holes and several duplicates. Would 'David' be willing to scan these that are already not scanned? I also have 5 issues of a UK same format as above of ST World. I can't find the years, but Vol 1 no 5, 1/6, 2/6(aug), 2/8(oct),4/1(jan 89) And one other in the same format: Southern California Atari Computer Faire V. 3.0 Would 'David' be willing to scan these that are already not scanned?
  4. warerat !!!!! Great Thanks!!! That is amazing. I did not know there were two versions. Good to know, and now we have the 400 manual available for everyone! Anyone have the 800 version? It would be interesting to see how the 1200 emulation might work. Still working on moving my headers. Busy today with other stuff.
  5. Which thread? I saw a thread that had 2 pages from the manual, and 2 notice green pages. But no t the whole manual. The C0,1,2,3 pin was set to CO to Center. Now moved to C3 & center. The B0,1,2 pin set to B0 and center pin The S1,2,3 pins set S3 to center pin Other two pin set for 800. (I have a 1200, no need to emulate one on an 800) The top right headers are soldered. Need to rework and will take a little time to move then down to the lower row. "First, Grab Mosaic test-suite from Incognito's thread" Which thread? Thanks for the hand holding.
  6. This is GREAT !!! I see an 800 can simulate a 1200. Interesting. Do you have the whole Manual? If so please scan and post if you can. Wow forgot I started this thread a long time ago.
  7. Thanks Faicuai! & Everyone else !! Much appreciated! No my 800 does not boot with the 16K's out of slot 1 and 2, 64 card only in slot 3 Here is how it is connected. See pictures. I think you can see all the jumper if you look close enough. I do not see 52K, but just over 50K when i poke 741,255 742,159 106,208 GR.O These were the numbers attached to labels on the top of the case when I got it. I know these are all memtop pokes, but I am unsure if they are the correct values. I am still looking for the actual install/user manual for this card. Seems like lots of you smart guys know about how to use the card, but no one has the real manual. It would be good to archive it.
  8. Many Thanks! Both our boards are installed and working. Through mine has connections on both rows of headers as shown in the upper right of the picture above. With various pokes I can get over 50K free ram in Basic. I would like to read the manual to see why mine is installed this way and to see what all the jumpers are for. Why are two labeled 800/1200? Why two rows of headers? etc.? Any idea why there is that little circuit on the power board? What is that section of the power board regularly do? Why both in the same machine? Trying to do a some computer forensics.
  9. Many thanks! I do already have that manual, box, and card in my position. But it does not offer much that is useful for the 64 card. Of note is that it has a jumper labeled 800/1200. A card edge board would have no use in a 1200. We really need the manual to define this and several other jumps on this board. Anyone else have a line on this card.
  10. Thanks, we saw those. good detail in the CC review, But we really want the manual. Anyone have one?
  11. A friend and I both have Mosaic 64 cards. His in a 400, mine in an 800. We don't know how to use them correctly. I think pokes to 106, 741,742 are needed with a GR.0. Anyone have the manual. I did a long google search and could not find one. Mine also has this little hack on the power board I am unsure about. The power LEDs do not light on power up. Is this part of the setup for this card? Thanks
  12. Hi all, Back to these cards again. I used the archive.org wayback machine to get to Curts site and pulled the flyer for this card hoping to be able to read the chip numbers. But the resolution seems low. I cant read the chip numbers I need to get to populate these cards. I can only read the 3 74LS151's at A5,6,7 positions. Can any of you out these see the numbers on the other chips I need? From above I see I need a MC6850 UART; a 74LS245 but can't see its position on the board; a MC1489 but can't see its position on the board; Thanks
  13. I sent this Master Disk to K Savitz (ANtic POdcast) just after I got this. (about 2 years ago maybe?) I think he made a kyroflux(?) image of it. He would normally put it on Archive.org.
  14. You guys know the know the 815 writes 256 bytes at a time, not 128? And it writes 'backwards' from then 810? Or it writes data like 'everyone else' and doesn't 'NOT' the data?
  15. Hello, The 815 my friend was able to save from an E-recycle will be going to ebay soon. This is a fully working drive in almost perfect condition. It has an Atari printed original owner's manual and Master 2.0d disk. This drive has been fixed to working order by AA Bob1200XL. That was about 2 years ago. It has been in my possession after that, in controlled, sealed boxed, storage while I was doing a full house remodel. I have been using for the last couple weeks. I will miss it, as I am not the owner. There is a picture, I love, that Bob1200XL took of this drive with 4 other 815's in here somewhere. I thought I would give this community some advance notice of this sale. I do not know when he will list it, but it should be in the next couple of weeks, I think. So, check your HELOC balances, I don't think he will be giving this away. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them, but only as much as my friend will allow. Good Luck to everyone
  16. Thanks everyone! I do not want to upgrade to 16K boards. Just want to get the 8K boards working. I put in 2 16K chips and it works fine!! I now have recused 2 8K and 3 16K boards from the recycler, with one to 16K go! It would be nice to have shells for them, but I have never seen empty shells for sale. I still need a BOM for an empty 16K card. All the cards I have have different parts, and not that I can read/understand any of them. Is there a list for the caps/resistors/diodes needed for a 16K card? Or should I start another thread
  17. Hello,

Wondering if I might make a request for additional labels that you have so carefully made in the past for all of us to enjoy and use.

This would be for the 800 OS/Personality and Ram Modules.

I think there should be 5

    Standard OS

    OS-A, OS-B

    8K, 16K

There appears to be room in the OS labels for some small print for version A or B next the word 'System' (I have both and would like to differentiate between them)

I have other modules that have lost their labels over time. And others that have faded to a lighter tan.

I prefer the color of the background of the 10K OS module I have scanned (600dpi) and attached below.

I hope this is something you can do without too much time and effort. But I'm sure the community would like this.

Thanks again for all the amazing work you do for the Atari world!

  18. Hi all again, I have a 8K ram card that is missing 2 ram chips. The are mosfet Mk4108n. I am having trouble located compatible chips. I just need 2. I tested the others in another 8k card I was luck to have. I also need 3 LS158's Can some one send a link or possibly have some to part with for a fair price. Thanks Oh PS anyone have a BOM for the discreet parts on a Atari 16K ram card? I have a bare board I'd like to populate. Thanks!
  19. I fond the problem! The was a staple jammed under ram lot 1! The kind of staple from a desk paper stapler. Only about 2mm were visible. It was stuck under, from right to left, pins 11 and 12. It was making contact with the slot pins and a via there. But I mean this was fully jammed under the black plastic. I had to pull hard to get it out. I have no idea how it got in there. But I'll bet that is why this machine was retired back in the day. Well it works great now. Another 800 saved!!! Thanks everyone for the help and advice. Always very much appreciated!
  20. Yes. I have a working exact same Rev A board. Well just tested it and it does not read the Return key. It works fine on the bad slot 2 board Whats your thoughts?
  21. Hi, I got an 800 with odd behavior. It will not boot with any Atari ram in slot 2. I have pulled the whole machine apart and have only the base plane, and power board out and connected. I have done the usual. cleaned the slot and board. Re-seated all the base plane chips, and ram module cards. With only 1 16K ram module in slot 1, it boots. I put in a SS2.07 cart in and tested all 3 16k ram modules. They all pass. I have switch all 3 16k to all positions and no change, it will not boot with anything in slot 2. They all boot in slot 1. I have swapped out the OS and CPU boards with several other known goods one I have on hand. No difference. Well, no, sometimes I get a yellow full screen, or a full black screen. I have reflowed the slot 2 joints. no change. I tested the LS chips in a little tester I have they all show as good. I put some Deoxit in the slot, no change. I looked for any physical damage with a 10x glass but saw nothing alarming. I put a Practical Peripherals MM1632 ram card set for 16K in slot 2 and it booted, but only shows in SS2.07 as 24K. So it looks like a 8K card. Oh, all testing done with a 16K in slot one, of coarse. I often swapped slot 1 ram with another 16K just to make sure it was not that card. Any ideas why it is doing this? Possibles fixes?
  22. Still looking for a little help finding this correct part. I am unsure how to select one of these on Digi-Key? Anyone?
  23. Hi all! I have a MST2 that boots normally. But is has black vertical lines on screen. The are 2 pixels wide on low Res, and are about 1/2" apart from eachother all the way across the screen. I have done Ram and chips tests from the the 4.4 diagnostics cart, and YARRT tests, and all pass with no errors. (the vertical lines are present during all this too) When in Gem, everything appears to work normally, disk access, read, format, play a game. Sound is fine. There are original Atari made 2 chip TOS 1.2 ntcs rom. I tested with another monitor and get then same thing. I have pulled and reinserted all socketed chips. No change. I have swapped the Shifter and DMA chips from working MST2, no change. I have reflowed Shifter and DMA sockets, and any other near by that could be a bad joints. No change. Suggestions, Ideas? Thanks !
  24. About 15 years there was a run at Best Electronics for all the leftover empty 1400 and 1450 boards. I'd guess about 50. Some people tried to populate them. I have not seen or heard of any successes. One of them may be willing to scan one to help make a reproduction. Note there are 2 versions of the 1450 board. One same size as 1400 but needed a daughter card for the floppy drivers. And large Tong board with floppy interface built in and it will not fit in a 1200/1400 case. I think there are schematics out there for all three if you want to design your own board. Possibly optimizing them for size and more easily avaliable parts and eprom usage.
