  1. I have had a few controllers over the years with redish instead of orange fire buttons.
  2. mine do the exact same thing. tried many thumb sticks same result. Its still much better than the stock stick though.
  3. Where do I get MS Access? Part of microsoft office package.
  4. My choice is the 4 port. The 2 port is incompatable with a couple of games, but works with the VCS adaptor. Uses regular rf switchbox. The 4 port works with all games. Doesn't natively work with the VCS adaptor, but can be easily "fixed" so it does. Uses the automatic switching rf switchbox, can be more or less easily retrofitted to work with a regular switchbox (or I believe anyone of the later automatic rf switchboxes from the Genesis, NES, etc. can work without any modifications at all.) I think the genesis or nes rf should work but only if you do a direct power mod to the 4 port.
  5. I used to collect both boxed and loose and counted them as different collections. Then I realized I just don't have that kind of space and quit collecting boxed games. I still try to get manuals but no boxes. If I do happen to get boxes I usually find someone else who needs them. I don't get to make thrift runs a whole lot anymore though because they are so far from my house and the cost of gas.
  6. I use excel as well. I used to use access but ended up going back to excel.
  7. I have had probably had about 100 controllers and never seen a blue circuit. neato. lol
  8. Thanks. Assuming you mean the 5200 controller, I scrapped a surplus product that I picked up on the 'net. But, the exact same case is available from a place called "Pac-Tec" or "PacTec", I don't remember right now. If you can't find it, I'll look it up for you. (If you mean the Vectrex controller, that's a hacked up NES controller. I don't recommend doing it that way. It's way too tedious, at least for me.) I do think the 5200 controller is neat too, but I was referring to the Vectrex controller. I was curious how you managed to turn an NES controller into that? Did you actually cut sections out of one NES controller and glue them together into the new, 4-button controller? You're exactly right. You can look at some of the pictures and see where the pieces were joined. If you look carefully at the recent picture of the painted unit, you can see where I didn't care enough to completely hide the joints. If you're good at that sort of thing, it's probably not a bad way to go. I had only some crude tools and found it quite tedious. Also, I chose to put the buttons all in a line to match the "vibe" of the original Vectrex controller. I'd advise anyone else to stack the additional buttons on top of the original 2 instead of putting them beside. It feels like I'm going to have to slightly reposition my right hand if I need to jump back and forth between the 1st and 4th buttons. (I have no idea how often that would need to happen.) I got the trimpots that I needed. Still need to mount them and drill access holes for them. I may get the final wiring done this weekend and throw a few coats of Plasti-Dip on the back side and be done with it. Unfortunately, nobody around here in interested in playing the Vectrex with me so I don't have to have a second controller and I prefer the analog controller, so it'll probably be a "display only" piece when I get done. All for the sake of creating, I guess. I am always amazed at what you come up with.
  9. I would love to have boxed games but I just lack the room to store them in. Older house = not much storage space.
  10. That is actually very true. I have bought several items from them also and have never had a bad packing job as far as I can remember. There shipping is sometimes a little higher than I would like, but its always done right.
  11. OMG I would be so pissed if I got my box system with that shipping label on it. Isn't the person smart enuff to know the box is probably whats most wanted in that auction?
  12. don't feelbad my first 6 auctions under the dsr were all free shipping auctions and I had less than perfect scores on shipping and handling charges.
  13. I have replaced them with momentary pushbutton switches. I your switches could be used too.
  14. I would think it would be easiest to just buy some from best electronics and replace them.
  15. great to deal with
  16. great deal here on 8 bit games

  19. great to deal with. Also very helpful.
  20. great deal on the chuckwagon
  21. That's interesting and somewhat unexpected to me. How are the trimmers implemented on your controller? Were you able to physically rotate the pots or did you do some other trick? They are wired exactly like the pots in the controller are only they are in my adapter box. I can turn it on and center it then play for a few minutes and it will center to the right. I can center it again with the pot and after a few minutes it will be off again. Granted after doing this 4 or 5 times its almost perfect but its kind of a pain. Its still hugely better that stock 5200 controllers though.
