Im into video games, toys, animals, and creating. I am a chef by trade, and creating culinary delights is one of my passions. I am a mellow guy, like to laugh and have a few pints and a good smoke. I get along with nearly everyone and believe that "different strokes for different folks" should be carved in stone. Although mellow and easy going, I have been know to turn into Marv (Sin City..) when me or mine are threatened. ;)

  1. Sweet Jesus....FF much?!?! I have a couple of chums that are REALLY into that series...I'll let them know.. Take care chica.. -Joe
  2. _ U M P ! (My _ key has officially DIED on my laptop...RRRR...I tried fiddling with the contacts, ZIP..its void...) Anyhow... Still in the market for GOOD games. Namely: -Pokemon (for my fiancee..I SWEAR!!) -Castlevania -Metroid -etc. Also, any interesting accessories/peripherals. _TW...whats this "flash card" thing I'm hearing of?? Please dont tell me there is a way to "put" SNES games on a cart that plays on my G_A...OMG...I'd just a_out have a full release at that notion!! Have plenty to swap.... -Joe
  3. Thank you Jess...was wondering about that. A flea near me has those bigass Genesis "Power Sticks" for $3...now I know to GRAB them! (To me they look like Sega versions of the NES Advantage.. best controller ever) I used to have this heavy-duty jobby made by a company called Wico. The stick part looked like a baseball bat and was candy red, with a white button at the top...man, that was a GOOD joystick. -Joe
  4. Thanks so much Wood...I wasnt aware that there were ANY Atari/Activision compilations for the GBA..?? Are they emulated well, close to the real games? I'm sitting on a ROOM full of "parts" so to speak...monitors, small game screens, various systems, etc...too bad that I'm tech-impared. Thanks again for the advice and all everyone... Ah well, suppose it's just a pipe dream, cause theres no way in HELL that I can send Mr. Heckendorn (sp?) $300+ for a portable VCS... On a POSITIVE note though, I should awake tomorrow morning to a box filled with roughly 55~65 2600 carts at my doorstep! Many I haven't played for 2o years or more! Oh...wanted to mention/ask... One of the places I frequent has TONS of common carts. They are $1 each, but the guy is my buddy and gives great "bulk discounts". What I'm wondering is, other than using them as larger versions of LEGO or doing a skeet-shoot, are there USES for these? What about people that make their own games and so forth, don't they need cartridges to "erase" and use, or? (Forgive the lack of technical terminology..I have NO clue how to say this correctly..) Anyhow, this guy has like 15 Pac-Man, at least that many Combat, Missle Command out the wazoo, Asteroids, blah blah blah... (These ARE the same crates that I culled my three 20th Century games from though, so..) Anyhow, just thought I'd mention.. -Joe
  5. My fiancee gets home in about a half hour...she does all the "tech stuff". What are you wanting shots of? Just let me know and it shall be done. BTW...I got your PM man. Sorry, but I have no use for a convertor at the time, and import games (PC Engine) are something that I'm going to look into down the road. There are many US games that I want to acquire and enjoy first... Thanks. -Joe Here are the pictures. Notice the condition of the PSOne screen and the Nomad screen...they look untouched. (I took the PSOne monitor out of the box brand new about 8 months ago..) You can see a little "rub spot" on the 7800, thats where I got a little harsh with the abrasive sponge. lol She tells me if you want "close -ups" to just ask... (Like I said folks, this is HER forte...computer related stuff is like neurosurgery to me...)
  6. I know...I know...probably a LONGshot here, but I'm in the market for one of these. I'd like to do a partial swap/partial cash arrangement if possible. I have a small pile of HuCards now, and am waiting for more in the mail, and I'd love to have the handheld to play them on. I'm not too hung-up on condition, some scratches/cosmetic damage is OK...so long as it WORKS well. So then..anyone have one of these beauties to spare? To obtain one of these I'd pretty much open up my FULL trade listings...Sega Nomad, PSOne with attached TFT screen, 2600, 7800, etc etc... Thanks. -Joe
  7. Right ON! Thanks! (Gotta use Mike Haggar...who uses those other two puny dorks?!? LOL ) So then...have YOU got any GBA games for sale or swap?? Thanks! -Joe
  8. Thanks Kroogur. We have the MOTU game...its not bad, just a little dull, which is a shame cause my fiancee and I both LOVE that property...our collection of figures and such would rival a museum! I'll remember that Castlevania game you mentioned and look for it... As for Final Fight, odd that you'd mention that...a flea market near me has it for $7....worth it? We have about 30 GBA games thus far, but we regularly trade them in for others that we enjoy more. (I'm kind of particular, and one of the guys that I do business with in the area does even swaps for me, so....) Thanks -Joe
  9. Wolf 3D is the only good FPS for GBA. DOOM 1 and 2 are kinda iffy...1 runs well, and looks alright, but is missing lots of stuff from the PC version. 2 is a bit more faithful to the original, but runs sluggish, and went overboard on brightening up the game for the original GBA. Haven't played any other FPS that was worth more than five minutes of my time. Advance Guardian Heroes is one of the best beat-em-ups I've ever played on any console. I haven't played the original Saturn game, but the GBA sequel is just fantastic. I've been seeing it and Gunstar Superheroes (another great Treasure game) in bargain bins lately for $10 (at Best Buy and KB Toys), so keep an eye out. Guardian Heroes, eh? Hmmm..thanks...I'll do that. I have Gunstar..it kicks all sorts of ass...the scaling and rotation blows the mind. As far as FPSs, well, I have played one of those "Sever" games, wasn't half bad. There are supposed to be others..superior to Wolfenstein...IGN had a whole feature on GBA FPSs. By the by...have YOU got any GBA games to swap? There are so many I missed out on over the years, and now that "DS" and PSP rule the marketing roost, I figured that its a good time to get more familiar with my little portable SNES. (Thats WHEN I get to play it that is...ughhh...when she gets an RPG or a Pokething game, forget it...I dont even SEE my GBA for a few days...) I'm assuming that you are a GBA fan yourself, or? If so, whats YOUR opinion of the "Brighter Screen" models? I looked at one for a brief few seconds and I was FLOORED....I very much want one now.. Thanks for the advice.. -Joe
  10. Hello all. My girl and I are always in the market for GOOD GBA games. I'm all about a good swap, as several good folks here will vouche for. We are mainly into the "platform" variety, but any decent title will do. Please see my trade list for most of what I have to offer. I have everything from a Light Sixer to a 7800 to a PSOne to an NES, and everything in between, just ask. Here are some titles that we are keen on: -Anything Pokemon -Anything Zelda -Any Castlevania games EXCEPT for Harmony of Dissonance -Wade Hixton's Counter Punch -Any 1st person shooter EXCEPT for Wolfenstein 3D -Any GOOD beat-em-up (along the lines of Streets of Rage, Double Dragon, Final Fight, etc..) -Any GOOD shooters (Gradius, Salamander, Gates of Zendocon..games of this nature..) We are fairly new to the GBA scene, so I'm pretty much just going by series/genres that I know we enjoy, looking at places such as IGN for highly-rated games. Anyhow, if you have anything that fits the bill, shoot me a PM! Thanks -Joe
  11. ....and a convertor that will let me play the PC Engine games on my US system. Anyone have any for sale/swap? Thanks. -Joe
  12. CLOSE this please...I got a system, this thread is now VOID. Thanks! -Joe
  13. The reason I asked for the CX24 is because it's the only controller I've ever used for the 7800 and I'm used to it. Could you give me some suggestions on what controllers would be better? I'm no "7800 Pro" by any means, but this QuickShot stick I got today is pretty badass...VERY tight and responsive. Just my two cents here man, but no way in HELL would I give $30 for a controller/stick/pad...no way..nope... Hit up E-Bay or members here...GO USED!! I got a SWEET little fat red Wico stick from a member here for $5 shipped....second best joystick I have ever owned! -Joe
  14. Jesus thats terrible man....$23 for a STICK? I have a spare one for the 7800...whatcha got to swap? -Joe
  15. B U M P ...NObody has a TG-16 deck to spare?? I dont care if its beat to hell, so long as it WORKS!! I'll consider my Light Sixer, my recently acquired 7800, etc. if I'm able to get my mitts on a TG-16....I have a pile of games in front of me that I'm not able to PLAY! That SUCKS!! Thanks! -Joe
