  1. Really enjoying playing the Atari 2600 on a regular basis again. :D

I agree! The VCS is truly a timeless console. It's aged beautifully without missing a beat. And while I love many consoles of that era, there's something special about the VCS. It's the one I easily enjoy the most. Funny you should bring up homebrews! I started a thread asking for recommendations since so many games in the store here look great. ? The only one I've have is Pacman 4K which I love. Look forward to adding quite a few more. ? Long live the VCS!

  2. Girlfrend dumped me. Should pass some time with making a TI-99/4A podcast or something. Been holding it off for years.

Sorry to hear, dealing with a break up myself. That podcast sounds like awesome way to pass the time.

  4. I wish there'd been a Batman game for the 2600. That'd be so cool!

Would be cool if the fight bubbles were thrown in "Pow!" "Boom!" :)

Thank you, sure does seem a while. Guess I could just send the ROM and cover to Hozer if I want a cart. Might go home and try it in emulation, seems fun. I've wondered what a hack of Spiderman into Batman would look like. Spidey would become the Caped Crusader, Green Goblin the Joker and instead of the web it cold be a Batarang and Bat-rope.

This hack looks cool! Are they available for sale anywhere?

I agree completely! Part of me really wishes there was a 2600 Batman game based on the 1966 Adam West Batman TV series.

  9. Happy New Year to everybody!!! I have a feeling that 2016 will be a big year for the Atari 2600..... :) :)

Did the 2600 scene die down in 2015 or is this just general good wishes for the 2600 in 2016? I dropped off the scene last year so I have no idea what it was like, I'm hoping it was an active one for the system. :)

  10. Only a couple more games until I have a complete Magnavox Odyssey Library ... all I need are the hardest ones to get (Boxed that is)... Interplanetary Voyage and Percepts ... I also need the Soccer game too, but since that is foreign only ... it can wait

Would be neat to have an original Odyssey.

  12. Boy, the way Glenn Miller played.

  13. RIP Bob Hoskins. I don't care what anyone says, I think you played a great Mario. (And yes, I do enjoy that movie. Deal with it.)

Loved him in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Also agreed, I thought he was great as Mario.

  14. My girlfriend got me Atari 2600 Keyboard Controllers and an Atari t-shirt for my birthday. I'm a lucky man and one happy retro-gamer. :)

The ads really have changed things, they are everywhere. Especially obnoxious are the ones with video and audio that are super loud and take over your screen. I don't have anything to hide either but I don't like being spied on. The nature of the internet is changing for sure.

I'm nothing if not dramatic. :) I've been thinking about this for a while, I just find retro gaming overwhelming at the moment. Too many options, too little time, space and money.

  20. Rejoice! For Jay Leno has finally left The Tonight Show, and hopefully for good this time.

  21. Wow, just had a nice Atari 2600 game play session. I've neglected my 2600 for a bit but tonight was a good night. Played quite a few games till I found one that hit the spot and that was Atlantis. Loved everything about it from the cool cartridge case to the actual game. Definitely need to check out more Imagic titles.

I have an O2 also, so this is a good port of the game? I'm curious since Imagic was the only 3rd party developer to make O2 games in the US.

Me neither. I sort of rediscovered Conan after watching the Big Bang Theory. He came on and I couldn't stop laughing. I think he's very clever. His Clueless Gamer segment is also lots of fun.

I'll miss him, he was an institution in many ways. His heartfelt goodbye was touching. I like Conan, he's currently my favorite late night host. I also like Steve Colbert and Jon Stewart since their humor tends to be more witty and full of more social commentary.
