[GCN Mario Party 4]

hehheh... I guess hearing about the leprechaun work got me reading your blog a bit.

 

I'm a big fan of the Mario Party series, though I found 4 to be a bit heavy in the loading time side, I think 5 improves it...or maybe it's 6 I bought.

 

Anyway, sometimes I still miss the simplicity of the "Stadium" mode in the first game.... but not the hand-ripping rotation game.

 

I always thought JoustPong would make a good minigame in one of these :-) Sometimes I even daydream my own low-rez DC game, "Block Party"....

Another idea for a chess variant:

 

I always thought it would be cool to have a variant (probablyu only human vs human) that was like "real time" chess...every time you move a piece, the cursor resets to some "home" position, and besides that you can move as much as you want, no waiting for the other player...

Sounds like a reasonable approach, I wouldn't sweat the score comparison thing, that's an issue with tons of atari games, that you need to specify the difficulty

 

I guess I'm not a big fan of difficulty switches, because it's hard to express what they "should" be for the "normal" settings, you know?
