  1. Thanks so much! My order is placed. I ordered from 4jays this E/A modules and a Tunnels of Doom module with UPS ground shipping ($10 for 2 little modules). What showed up at my house just today was one module (the e/a) in a padded bag via USPS. TOD was not in stock even though it was listed. Well, I don't like doing business with a company or people who say 1 thing but do another. $10 OK for UPS, not USPS. Plus a website that lists things in stock that arent. No communication at all. Just a note that "if" they ever get it in again they will email me. I sent them an email asking to be refunded for the module and some shipping as I think thats ripping people off. Quote an expensive service, then send it in a padded envelope...... I'm not upset over the few dollars. But I feel they should give me something back. I'll post here the response from them. Well, I must have got lucky from them about 3 weeks ago because I ordered 5 loose carts and got them sent to me for $7 shipping (I always get USPS because it's cheaper and not that much slower - I think the actual postage on the box was $5 so the cost for box and padding was $2 - not bad) and I'm all the way up in Western Canada. I see you picked UPS but got USPS instead, kinda why I never go for the more expensive option. I was a little skeptical of them before I ordered so I emailed them to see if the carts I wanted were in stock before I placed my order. I'd recommend this for any smaller web site, though they've been around for quite a while. Hope you get a decent resolution, though. Seems you got the short end.
  2. HA HA That's what my Hacker's Guide is on. It still works too. Does anybody know if there's a scanned version of the Hacker's Guide online anywhere?
  3. Okay, so let's say I only use the one 5 1/4" that's coming in the mail. What about adding 3 1/2" Drives? Isn't there some kind of jumper on the Drive that has to be set or soldered or a trace that has to be cut?
  4. That is correct. I happened to use the drives from a spare TRS-80 coco drive setup I had just sitting on a shelf. If I remember correct those drive I got from ebay many years ago. Do you know which model TRS-80 drives they are? Were they together as a sets? And did you look in the PEB to see if you have the stock TI controller or a 3rd party? Thanks, Steve
  5. The stock TI drives are SS/SD. I believe the controller can handle DS/SD, but not double density. If you want DS/DD you will need a upgraded controller, such as a Corcomp or Myarc controller, and a DS/DD drive too. These controllers tend to fetch high prices on Ebay these days and are really quite rare. Thanks. Since I posted this I installed two 360K drives in my PEB and now I can use DS,SD disks. Not knowing enough about the TI99 and its disk system, and no idea what type of hardware was in the PEB had me very confussed. I have it all sorted out now. Where'd you get the drives from? And/or what type of drives did you use? I want to set up mine with one 5 1/4" and two 3 1/2" drives but I'd like them to be DS/SD rather than SS/SD. I'm prety sure I'm getting a stock TI controller and it's be nice to have the drives available when the controller shows up. Thanks, Steve
  6. All beige, I suppose? On somewhat of a similar note, do you have any plans online on how one could make the keyboard adaptor you developed for the TI-99/4A? I remember seeing pictures of your board but I can't recall seeing instructions or schematics. Heck, I'd even buy one if you had one or plans to sell them. Seems like the dying keyboard epidemic would lend itself to an expanding market for you.
  7. WooHoo!! I just got me a CF7+. There are still 3 left as of midnight. Now I'll have the PEB, Cassette and a cf7+ to work with. Hot diggity dog!
  8. Our favorites were Parsec, Alpiner, Chisholm Trail, Tombstone City and Munchman. You have quite a few goodies there for sure. Would you be interested in parting with one of your Extended Basics? Maybe some of your other doubles? Shoot me a PM if you are. Steve

    The Setup

Wouldn't mind adding a TI monitor to the mix. A Commodore 1701 will have to do (nicely) for now.

    My First PEB!

Finally!! Bought off eBay and the adventure resumes.
  12. Wow! Thanks Owen! I have a PEB coming, but I'm not sure which card is in it - it's supposed to have a Flex Cable and one other card. Hopefully I find out soon. I'm sure it doesn't have a drive so I will pm you with my address and you can let me know what I'll owe you for shipping. Awesome!! I'm not sure I would have used the RS-232 anyway, but the disk controller, drive and 32K are perfect. Thanks again, Steve
  13. I have one of these, not the box though. We bought it new in the mid 80's from our local CO-OP. We needed to put a book under our 2600jr because it didn't sit high enough for the short cart slot cable.
  14. I would be alright with helping Keith avoid the eBay fees and I'm not looking to lowball anybody, but I'd need to use Paypal. Though, I'm also willing to cover some or all of the Paypal fees as well. I don't know what they are, but I know there are some. I'll also do the same for anyone who would like to sell any of the items I'm in need of. Thanks, Steve
  15. I sure am. I hope to at least have a disk and 32K setup and I finally have a PEB coming, I just need the cards to go into it and the right modules. Thanks for the heads up. Steve
  16. While I need to get one of these CF+7 babies, I still need to populate my PEB as well. Anyone looking to get rid of their PEB cards now that the CF7+ is fitting the bill for them or anyone who has any extra PEB cards send me a PM and we'll work something out. I've had my TI since 1982 but never could afford the PEB (always drooled over it in the catalogs/magazines) and now I've gotten serious about it. The enthusiasm within this TI community is also quite infectious and I need to start dabbling in the programming as well. To that effect, I'll likely need Extended Basic, Editor/Assembler and other programming goodies as well. Steve
  17. They don't have Complete ADAM's? or IDE Interfaces?
