  1. I have a CollectorVision Phoenix system, which I purchased brand new from CollectorVision in November 2018. I only tested it out very briefly when I received it, and I think I updated the firmware at one time, but when I attempted to play a game today I can't get any video out. I have tried it with 3 different games, and I can hear the game audio playing through my TV speakers using HDMI, but the video is either gray boxes, or a garbled green screen. One time I saw it display a firmware revision number (I didn't pay attention to the number itself), and another time it booted to a Phoenix logo. It doesn't seem to be consistent on what video output gets displayed, except that it never displays the game video. I tried running it through an HDMI switch and also bypassing the switch entirely. I don't even know where to start with this. Do I need to revert the firmware? Is there a compatibility problem with my TV? Is something wrong with the Phoenix hardware itself? Can anyone help?

    Burger Tom

Or, how about we make the game about a king who makes burgers? We'll call him something completely original like... the Burger King. Surely nobody will object to that!
  3. I can't predict how exactly it will happen, but the market will crash eventually. 20 years from now, when a majority of today's collectors are anywhere from 50-80 years old, who is going to be buying physical games in any significant quantity? Sure, there will be some younger kids buying games and systems the same way people buy antiques today, but our collections will eventually become almost worthless. For most systems, especially the older ones, I don't think prices will go much higher than where they are right now. The bottom is going to fall out at some point, but it probably won't be for awhile. There is absolutely going to be an end to the viability of game collecting though. The question is, do you want to try to time the market, or are you content with enjoying your games and going down with the ship?
  4. I have had good luck with Triad power supplies in general. Has anyone tried this one? https://console5.com/store/9v-1300ma-ul-certified-power-supply-transformer-for-sega-genesis-cd-nes-aes-tg16-100v-240v.html Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  5. I booted up my Jaguar today for the first time in over a year and noticed an audible hum coming from the system, in addition to some video interference. I had a spare power supply, so I plugged that in and everything cleared up immediately. My question is, for the noisy power supply, are they worth repairing? I know the OEM power supplies can be somewhat pricey, so is there a standard fix for this type of issue that would get it back in working order?
  6. I finally got my Game Drive loaded up, updated the firmware, and did some testing with it today. I have a SanDisk 32GB Ultra microSDHC memory card. Out of all my CD games, these are the ones that are NOT working based on limited testing: Ausweichmanover - Freezes after Reboot splash screen Bomb Squad - Freezes at initial Bomb Squad screen Double Feature 1 - Freezes after selecting game mode Hover Strike - Fails to load. Others have reported this game working, but I have ripped and converted multiple times and can't get it to load at all. Impulse X - Fails to load. Others have reported this game working, but I have ripped and converted multiple times and can't get it to load at all. Jagware Collection 1 - Freezes at menu after pressing a button Ocean Depths - Freezes on load screen Simone - Shows RISC Games logo, then fails to load Vid Grid - Freezes on in-game loading screen World Tour Racing - Freezes after pressing A on game menu I know many of these have already been reported as non-working. If anyone has suggestions, particularly for the games that other people were able to run successfully, please let me know. Otherwise, I guess I just have to patiently await further updates to improve compatibility.
  7. Sadly, that only got the game to convert, but I tested it this afternoon and it doesn't work.
  8. I'm just now getting around to loading files onto my Game Drive. I was able to convert a majority of my CDI images, but some of them are just converting to 1 KB JCD files. Most of these are brand new rips from new/unused discs using DiscJuggler. These are the games that are doing that: - Absorbierer - Alice's Mom's Rescue - Arne - Ausweichmanover - Impulse X - Iron Soldier 2 - Jagware Collection 1 - Philia - Simone - Yopaz Ice Star Can anyone tell me what the problem might be? EDIT: I have now been able to convert all these games successfully. I ripped them again and unchecked the R-W (CD+G) box on the Advanced tab in DiscJuggler. The new CDI images all converted without issue. I had previously read somewhere that CD+G should be checked for ripping Jaguar CD discs, but clearly that isn't the case. Now the only options I am using are Ignore read errors and RAW read. Next step, testing them on the Game Drive itself!

    Burger Tom

I'm getting hungry. Are there any updates on Burger Tom?
  10. I am selling my Launch Edition (XAW1000 model hackable/mod-able) Nintendo Switch console. It is complete in the original box with dock, works perfectly, and is essentially brand new. The console has a screen protector installed and has never been used without it. The included red & blue joy cons were only used a few times, look brand new, and have no drift. The battery holds a charge and the system has been initialized to factory settings. No games or SD card are included. The price is $255 shipped within the USA. I will post pictures later. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. SOLD
  11. You are right, RPG is a very broad category. I was thinking more along the lines of a JRPG - Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Phantasy Star. Obviously anything of that scope would be a massive project, but it would also be amazing to see even an abbreviated version of a JRPG on the Jaguar. It seems that Kings of Edom already has RPG elements and a similar graphic style, so that is what prompted me to ask the question. I'm not trying to sound unappreciative of your current efforts or minimize the effort that would be required to create a JRPG-style game, but a person can dream! ?
  12. This game looks incredible and I have already pre-ordered. Might we eventually see Phoboz progress to a full-fledged RPG, the biggest gap in the Jaguar library?
  13. I'd rather not buy the spare if I may never need it... or if it might not even work by the time I do. So it's just one for me. If a console stops working, I'll try to get it fixed. If it can't be fixed, then I'll deal with paying the high cost of replacement.
  14. But when do you get the time and energy back? (asking for a friend)
  15. I placed my order on 7/23, but I'm yet to receive a shipping notification. Hopefully it will be on its way soon!
  16. Take my money now! ?
  17. I was able to get my hands on an Xbox Series X console from Walmart, but I had a change of heart and decided that I don't really need it right now. Rather than return it to the store, I figured I would offer it up to people here if there is anyone still trying to find one. It is brand new and the box hasn't even been opened. I'm not trying to make money, but basically just cover my costs. The price will be $550 + shipping, Friends & Family only please to keep the costs down. If you aren't comfortable using Friends & Family, you are welcome to send a normal payment for goods, but would need to add $17 to cover Paypal fees. Send me a PM if you want it. Thanks! This has been sold.
  18. Price reduced to $250 shipped, which honestly is an amazing deal considering this is Complete in Box and barely used (with the controller never having been used at all).
  19. I just read the latest newsletter with the details for the upcoming SGM2 and I can't wait to buy one. My biggest question right now is, will the Phoenix be capable of supporting the new SGM2 features via a firmware upgrade?
  20. I received my package Saturday in Illinois. I love both of the ColecoVision games that were in this year's package. What an amazing value!
  21. I'm interested in one of these, but they are showing sold out on eBay. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. I already had a CIB repro, but I prefer to own to "official" licensed version so I sold my repro and pre-ordered from Castlemania. I have no use for the collector's items and wish there was just a plain clamshell release, but I'll take what I can get!
