Bowser N64

Hey I posted a thread on this forum years ago asking how to get my N64 Gameshark Pros unlocked. I've gotten them both working since then, but I would just like to say thank you to all those people that helped me figure out how to get it working. Since then I have made several videos detailing how to use (and reflash) the N64 Gameshark Pro. They're located at www.youtube.com/BowserN64. I don't want to advertise, but I'm not the only one who has had the broken Gameshark problem. Millions of people need help with it, so that is why I post the link. Problem With Direct3D Drivers Well, my problem certainly is a puzzling one. Here's the thing. I have a desktop computer running Windows XP Professional, service pack 2. Most things run fine. My disk and CD/DVD drives are all working correctly. My mouse and keyboard function well, as does my VGA monitor. I have .net framework 3.5 installed, as well as DirectX 9.0c. However, when I try to run a 3D game, or anything that requires 3D imagery, I get an error, that says the following: "Direct3D failed to initialize your HAL device, make sure you have a properly configured 3D graphics card compatible with Direct3D 6.0." Well, I went to start, run, and typed "dxdiag" in the run box. In dxdiag, in the tab under DirectX Features, where it has the buttons for Direct3D acceleration and what not, it was grayed out. Such as below. DirectDraw Acceleration: Not Available Direct3D Acceleration: Not Available AGP Texture Acceleration: Not Available I could not click the disable buttons to the right of those there. However, there was one button visible and able to be clicked. This was "Test DirectDraw". I clicked it and tested it and all worked fine. Also I looked below DirectX Features, and at the Notes, and it said: "The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer. To test DirectDraw functionality, click the "Test DirectDraw" button above. Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer." Well at this point it seemed likely that my video card driver was out of date. I determined logically, that I possessed a video card, because I was able to see things on screen. I found out what motherboard I am using, with Cpu-Z. Here are the details. ========================================== LGA775 ====================== INTEL DESKTOP BOARD D945GTP, D945PLM ("01" Was In hexagon) CANADA ICES - 003 CLASS B Serial Number: LATP60707486 AA C97834 - 303 E210882 ========================================== I went to Intel's website and found drivers for the desktop board D945GTP. The strange part is I downloaded the driver installation program from Intel, and then when I ran it on the other PC, it refused to run, saying "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements of this software. Setup will now exit." No idea how frustrating this is. I downloaded all the driver installation programs I could find for the D945GTP on the Intel website, and the same result! I downloaded the trial of Driver Genius Pro, and scanned for out of date drivers on my PC desktop. Well, turns out I have 20 drivers out of date, Video card/Direct3D included, I am sure. I know it would be easy to automatically download the latest drivers online with Driver Genius, but here is the problem. I don't want to connect that computer to the web! I have no virus protection! I have searched online everywhere! I still have not found a way to install my needed drivers offline, except for the executables from Intel, which obviously didn't work! I really need to install all 20. Please help! I need to be able to install the drivers I need, without having to go online with my desktop computer!

Same here. I enjoy my DS Lite even with its crappy L and R buttons that I replaced five times. I will get a DS-i when they bring the price down. You do know the prices are only lest when the DS-i is outdated, right?

Well one could always like buy a homebrew flashcart for it to play a lot of homebrew games and things. I love emulating GBA on PSP. HUGE screen.

I think ye should. See it has two touch screen and cool things. I do not know if it can run the old DS games though.

I know. Quite annoying because it really is a well designed awesome system .I have yet to see how well the L and R shoulder buttons hold up, however.

Well I will check to find some cut to size screen protectors at Office Max They have them for like six bucks. Well they have them readily available yes. I have 5.00 M33 - 6 firmware, so I can run just almost anything. But I mean, what games are good? Getting it setup seems an daunting task. And what version of the atari should I get?

I am looking for screen protectors for my Phat PSP 1000, and believe me when I say unto you that Gamestop did not have them. Only slim size did they have. None for the original Phat. Anybody know where I can get some? They seem hard to come by anywhere. Thanks.

Well now I know I have not posted here in a long time. I am now looking buy some replacement faceplates for my Game Boy Micro. I have no trouble finding the original ones it was released to the market with, but I would like more personalized ones. Preferably I would like a large variety to choose from. I found a lot of GBA Micro skins, but few actual faceplates. Also I cannot figure out how to navigate Nintendo's Japanese website (Which has tons of faceplates) because it is in Japanese. I cannot read it. I will get a FireFox language translation addon to help with this, but, any ideas? Thanks, and help is widely appreciated.

Sure Bowser! Your N64 will be fried until it is reduced to a pile of transparent green rubble if you use the code generator. In other words, you won't be very happy. This is your evil twin by the way. Other than that, no there is no danger involved! Neither is there in jumping off a cliff, like a LEMMING!

I used the Zelda keycode on my Gameshark Pro 3.3 to run Donkey Kong 64 with my Gameshark. It works, but the site I downloaded the cheat codes from, it said: =========================================== DONKEY KONG 64 Use the Zelda Keycode Do NOT have the code generator turned on ============================ What's wrong with using the Code Generator? How am I supposed to hack new codes on this game? Will it just crash the game, screw up my key codes, or fry my Gameshark Pro, or what? Is there any danger? Or does it make the codes just not work?

Well good luck. I know how hard it is to find OLD things, especially electronics. I had to order my parallel cable online! Nobody in town had it!

I understand your frustration. I don't think communication with the PC is possible on yours. Have you tried booting it on your N64?

LOL. "Bowser, this one's for YOU." Thanks man. I loved the video. It was very thoughtful of you to make it and dedicate it to me. Your Gameshark seems to be very different than mine. It seems from what I have heard and seen that only Gameshark Pro 3.0 and above have the parallel port on the back. I took apart my sharks before to clean them and yours is much different inside. The line about the cat was funny, and I did not mind the driveway and noises. It was a very entertaining video. Nice job. Hope we can PM each other and stay in touch? It's nice to meet someone interested in hacking N64 like me.
