Twitter isn't a place for conversation, it's a place to receive a random firehose of trivia and nonsense with which to waste time.

But we pointed it out to you. We may not be "assholes", but as you can see

there's a bit of annoyance when we do that ;)

  2. Guy at work smashed his finger pretty good today. I didn't see it, but our safety guy used the phrase, "lots of blood." Be safe out there, everyone.

I have seen a finger chopped off of a mans hand :(

I did hear that it sounds like he's going to keep the finger.

He was using a horizontal band saw (google Doall 400S to see what I'm talking about). It has a clamp to keep the material being cut in place and he got his finger in the clamp when it closed.

  3. Dammit, I'm going to make myself sit down and play a game tonight... probably...

I told her 4' tall by 16' wide by 75' long would just about get it. But yeah, unfortunately they were just wanting to use reinforced concrete and/or cinder blocks... nothing as fancy as transparent aluminum.

Thanks for the link, Flojo... I sent it to her. Her husband runs what they call a "water ministry". Essentially, he builds drills that dig wells, goes all over the world and trains people how to dig wells and gives them the drill so they can drill wells for others. He's been to Haiti several times, North Africa, places in the Pacific... They're planning to build a tank that will feed water to a filtration system and then to a holding tank with a spigot or something. Wante...

  7. I feel like, based on the sheer volume of ads that've been forced on me through various online services, that I've probably already seen the entire first season of The Orville.

It's not a bad show. I'm hoping season 2 dials back the crude humor a bit. I don't mind crude humor, but it feels out of place in such an otherwise earnest love letter to Star Trek.

    3. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

IMO, crude humor aside, What's Great is that it continually goes where Star Trek won't! In Star Trek they're not Jokers, they're almost too serious at times,...They don't make (pop culture) references, They are professional to a fault...The A Team...The Orville is more like The C Team if you catch my meaning...I dig both though, But, TBH I like The Orville Better (ducks haha)...Well better than all Star Trek except for The Original Series.

    4. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

Not to drag out a point too much (Too late ha!...S'all right,...No one's still reading this), but it also definitely depends on your mood. For a good sci fi mystery set in space, you have Star Trek...For a fun adventure, you have The Orville.

  9. Finally watched Season 2 of Castlevania last night. Great stuff. Now I'm ready for Season 3!

Apart from Dracula not doing much of anything until the end and the heroes spending a few episodes just walking through a library, it was pretty good. I love that they included Hector form Curse Of Darkness.

  10. Going to have to open up a game I got for Christmas to check the board. Definitely not in the original shell. Not a super expensive game (PriceCharting puts it at about $35 loose), but gotta investigate.

The giver is not terribly gaming savvy. They play games, but usually just the latest gen stuff. I think the oldest system they have is a Wii.

    3. carlsson

      carlsson

I've read about $5 commons being pirated so to find repros of $35 games seems perfectly expected (unfortunately).

    4. Eltigro

      Eltigro

Yeah, there's gotta be some kind of bell curve of profit on these. Like the low end might not sell well because it's common... and when it does, not much profit. The high end might make a lot of profit if it sells, but people are more cautious and will check things before spending a lot of money. This game is probably in some kind of sweet spot...

  11. I mean, I do wish them the best, but... I'm not sure about this design. Does anyone else think it looks like to go box from Chilis or something? https://twitter.com/TommyTallarico/status/1069684610190082048

A couple of downloads and moving some folders and I now have more arcade games than I can shake a joystick at. Now to figure out how to get the CPS games to work...

  13. So... a while back I had gotten a PS/PS2 to USB adapter to use a PS2 controller on my PS3 (before I got a PS3 controller). Suddenly had an epiphany today to use my Playstation Asciiware joystick with the adapter on my computer to play MAME shooters! So much better than the XBox One controller I had been using!

    1. Jess Ragan

      Jess Ragan

The ASCIIware is the joystick that looks like a Playstation system, right? Those are good, then? Good for fighting games, too?

      Eltigro

Well... I'm not sure. I'm not too happy with the stick on mine, but I haven't tried a different one to know if they're all like that or not. I have a feeling mine is damaged somehow even though when I took it apart I couldn't find anything obvious. I still think it's a bit better than a d-pad, though. I'd like to get another one or get a Saturn arcade stick (and Saturn to USB adapter) to use also/instead.

It was the thermostat housing. Bought a new one this morning and replaced it myself to save some money. Only took about an hour.

    4. jd_1138

      jd_1138

I helped my friend replace his stuck thermostat on his FWD Saturn last weekend. The housing was buried and hard to get to. We lost 3 10mm sockets. lol. I should've used my extension. Trucks are way easier to work on (way more room). I am glad you figured it out before blowing up your engine with lack of coolant.

  19. So I finally got a 3DS. I remember seeing games and thinking, "Man, I need a 3DS to play that." But now that I have one, I can't remember what I wanted to play. Suggest some for me!

Heh, no, it's the regular "old" 3DS XL. I don't really plan on using the 3D much at all.

Oh! Well in that case I highly suggest Zelda Link Between Worlds of course :)

$421 when I just looked at it. I know this is a rare, late release Saturn game, but I don't get the other hype around it. I didn't think it was particularly good when I played it.
