I agree if I had the money I'd be bidding on the Atari 2500 prototype over the laserdisc console.

I remember reading about this thing in the video game magazines back in the day. I loved laser disk games so I thought it was WAY cool sounding!

I might be tempted to spring for a Laseractive, but no way for a a system that expensive with 2 games.

I've only finished the NES games. I had a lot more time and a longer attention span back then.

TP is just the only one I stuck with to the end. I spent HOURS playing WindWaker, but never finished... got bogged down in taking pictures or something. Most the others just didn't hold my interest long enough I guess.

I don't think I ever finished the original. I've tried several times on several different platforms, but never made it all the way through LttP or OoT. I did finish LoZ 2, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. The latter being my favorite. I think the fact that we enjoyed it to the end speaks to the quality of the game.

Yeah, reading up a bit... there's going to be an "Intellivision Entertainment Keynote Address" at PRGE this year... and I'm going to be there... maybe I'll get to attend. Wonder if there's going to be a limit as to how many people can be in the room for it. Anyway, I'll have to weigh that against other thigns I want to do there because it's going to be over an hour long. But I can get a free Intellivision lanyard!

I'm not a fan of SHMUP the term, but I like SHMUP the genre. Same with Metroidvania. Hair band, cloud, and AI haven't bothered me. Just seems there's a lot of indie type games that are all jumping on the procedurally generated bandwagon. I'd rather have carefully crafted levels and such.

RF... Radio Frequency. That in itself is telling on how prone to interference that output is. These days it's crazy... Your cell phone in your pocket can visually and audibly alter that signal, not to mention the cell tower downtown. I worked in a video transfer lab, and we stupidly would let our techs use cell phones... Those signature pings are encoded and burned into DVDs forever. I highly recommend a/v cables, and even then you'll see interference, although personally I think it...

There is something almost steampunk in using RF output from an early 1990's console or computer.

I put a disc (movie from the library) into my Xbone the other day. It was weird. It worked fine, I guess.

It was an auction on goodwill’s site. Four off-brand Dreamcast controllers and a Wico ball top 2600 stick. Would have been about $21 shipped. Had a couple hours left and no bids when I saw it.

I asked, because, I keep seeing posts (not necessarily here) where people are like, "My collection, over 2000 games" or whatever. I've just never cared enough to actually count them. I don't have as many as most people, and could easily sit down and count in less than 15 min, but have just never have. I don't think I've known exactly how many games I had since the mid 90s. Maybe I'll do it tonight just to see.

It's kinda one of those things... there's some stuff in the auction that I really would like to have... but I really don't need to spend the money... and of course, none of it is anything I NEED... I'm still watching it, and if it's still pretty reasonably low when it gets close, I may bid again... lol... sigh...
