I definitely need one of those too!

I was waiting on my last chance order to come in and hopefully Albert gives me some credit since my subscriber discount didn't happen (My fault I guess I wasn't signed in)...I don't want to keep overwhelming him with new orders...But definitely need some stuff. :)

  2. Received my MiST v1.4 from Lotharek today! This little box is fantastic. Not the all encompassing "MiSTer" but its cute and it certainly does more than I will ever need. Love it!

  3. Dragonfire by Imagic for the VIC-20 is in my humble opinion the best port of the game!

^Classic Bydo!  That really sounds like one of those weird things I'd come up with, too!

Never saw the Vic-20 version, but back in the day I liked the CoCo version, as it was way better than the 2600 version.

Just played a few rounds of Dragonfire on the vic20 - it IS awesome.  Having grown up with a c64, I'm always a bit (pleasantly) surprised how good a lot of Vic games are. Shamus is a particularly good port, too.

  4. If I ever decide to deal/trade with anyone that has a "Battlesphere" title screen as their avatar please warn me/stop me. I know I should have taken that as a sign to walk away...

I am happy to bring this by so you can show me that it is working.  If so I am happy to post a public apology.

It's too late for that. I tried to help you, but you have just rubbed me the wrong way in the way you went about this entire issue. We are done.

  5. Got a Neo Geo AES again today after not owning one since around 1994. Japanese model of course as now the USA model goes for a trillion dollars apparently. But, no sweat. So glad to own this again. I purchased my first one on launch from a Babbages for $650. And in 2020, Japanese version (in box with manual) for $600.

Well done eightbit. Glad you're a Neo-Geo AES once again. Come by the Neo-Geo thread on Atariage.com at anytime. Seeing that you had one in the 90's, you must have a lot of stories to tell. That's amazing you purchased it a Babbages, I use to see them in their stores and could only dream of owning one. 8^)

  6. I still think "Super Nintendo" is one of the dumbest names for a console. In Japan the NES was called the "Famicom". So, when the "Super Famicom" came out it made sense in my mind. Nintendo Super Famicom sounds pretty good. But here in the US. the prior console was the Nintendo Entertainment System (or NES). So we got the Super NES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System)...or what is known as the "Super Nintendo"...but it just sounds dumber than Super Famicom to me...dunno why.

I read that, at one point, following the success of Ms. Pac-Man, Midway was considering a sequel to Gorf called Ms. Gorf. Imagine if, instead of "Super," the prefix "Ms." had become the go-to naming convention for sequels and such? We could be discussing the Ms. NES.

It was Famicom and Super Famicom in Japan which is a shortened form of "Family Computer". Nintendo were wary of using a name like that in the US post video game crash - so used entertainment system instead. So in the West it was the NES and Super NES.

I actually think it's the last time Nintendo had a really good name for a console...Ultra,  Dolphin,...I mean,  who knows what good name they threw out this time when they decided to "Switch" it up!

  7. Love it how sellers on ebay use the sepia camera setting to hide the fact that the console is yellowed. Make it all look yellow and buyers can never tell...great idea! Jerks...

Send the picture back to them with the yellow exaggerated :P

In 2003 it was $2500 MSRP. Today, it was $10 at Goodwill.

      Looks Sharp!   haha...

I like that it has S-Video!

I think my little Westinghouse is similar to that...

These Aquos sets from the era (2000-2004) are the best CRT equivalent you can find. They have been a little "secret" I have kept over the years. They are pre-HDMI and the internals are designed to provide the best possible a/v (composite, component, s-video) you can get out of an LCD TV....as well as an excellent RF. If you want to connect old consoles to a set that is a lot lighter (18 or so pounds on this one) and still have it look great without the need for an upscaler or line doubler....this is the set for you. I see them in the wild every now and then and I always pick them up for this reason.

  9. Now that I have the MiSTer connected to a CRT I figured I'd try the SNAC with some light guns. Zapper, Light Phaser and Justifier tested...all 100% functional! Simply awesome.

The NES, SNES, Genesis, TG16 and SMS cores support the SNAC from what I have tested. Probably more (if not all) of them by now. Nice to use real controllers with this!

  10. Received my Jaguar-daptor today in order to use a Jag controller on the MiSTer. Why? So I can map the keypad to the Colecovision core. Playing the CV with a Jag controller is fantastic!

I knew Atari added that keypad to the Jaguar for future use! That was some forward thinking if I do say so myself!

I've always liked the Jaguar controller for what it is. That's cool you're taking full advantage of them that way. Even though I sold my Jaguar collection a while back. I kept a bunch of the controllers. Use them on my Amiga's and even the 7800 with Edladdin's Seagull78 and the BEST adapter for that all important 2-button play.   :)

  11. Had a Cup Noodles today and noticed it said "No added MSG, same great taste" which is new. I guess MSG has been a part of it all of this time. And it tasted like crap...like unsalted Cup Noodles.

It was never that MSG was bad for you. It is that they replaced the real food with the MSG to save money. MSG strengthens the flavor of food by opening pores of the tongue. If they are going to take away the MSG they are going to have to triple the price of your food to make it taste the same.

Some people are allergic to MSG, which is why they have to list it separately in the ingredients.
