I tried with the joystick only, and up/down are working. To test within your emulator, there is a basic program here : https://www.atariarchives.org/c2ba/page002.php Another way of testing would be to install a VM with a windows and install Altirra. In Altirra the joytick is simulated with the keyboard arrows but you can define you own. The real 800xl has some arrows on the keyboard. However i never used the arrows in games, only the joystick.

The new ATR is better. But there's a problem with left/right movement. I can only move up and down. (both stock 800xl and Altirra)

Don't worry, it's a beta release B.T.W. i had the same problem on a stock 800xl PAL (+fujinet) with tfhh 512K memory expansion (it acts like a Rambo).

Hello @masteries, Is it possible to install the latest #Fujinet firmware to this version (see pictures) ? I tried to upgrade to Fujinet firmware 1.2 version 2023-12-24 with the fujinet flasher 1.4.1 but once done it does not work anymore (i just have the APPLE II logo on the screen and nothing else). I also tried older versions within fujinet flasher : no success but if i choose "custom firmware" and use your file "FujiApple Masteries 28_3_2023.zip". But maybe there is a problem on my side, so i just wanted to be sure. Thanks for your help Regards.

Hello, I bought an INTV piano and it doesn't work. It makes one continuous sound and none of the keys work. Is there a diagram of the piano board? I used the ROM synth.bin (https://forums.atariage.com/topic/193981-reading-the-ecs-keyboards/) to test and here's the result: I tried to remove the first 20cm of the conductive foam but problem remains. There is a 9 key space between each stucked keys. If i use the normal keyboard (the one for the Basic) the "#1" in the picture is the "0 (Zero)" key, the "#2" is the 8 key, the "#3" is the 6 key and so on. From what I found in the other post above there is something wrong with column 5 of the table : 00FE | $00FF bits bits | 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ------+----------------------------------------------------------------- 0 | left, period, scolon, p, esc, 0, enter, [n/a] 1 | comma, m, k, i, 9, 8, o, l 2 | n, b, h, y, 7, 6, u, j 3 | v, c, f, r, 5, 4, t, g 4 | x, z, s, w, 3, 2, e, d 5 | space, down, up, q, 1, right, ctl, a 6 | [n/a], [n/a], [n/a], [n/a], [n/a], [n/a], [n/a], shift So I think of a failing HCF4050BE ? I ordered one (luckily they are easy to find). What do you think about it ? What could be the cause of the failure? Thanks.

SIDE3 only running loader from SDX on 1200XL
Marsupilami replied to x=usr(1536)'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks for the information, my Side3.0 works fine now with my 1200xl and the 74F08PC 👍. I found a modification on the old component, I don't know what it does... Could someone tell me if I should reproduce this on the 74F08? Thanks -

@Stephen, the problem is solved : The pcb was askew / incorrectly positioned in the shell. -
New shell for the SIDE3 cartridge and your 1200xl
Marsupilami replied to Marsupilami's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I only have 2x3.0 Side3. So maybe the 3.1 is bigger ? But on your 3rd picture where the sticker "3.1" is visible, the card is not centered in the center of the shell (the hole in the center of the card). I had to push it a little so that it fits in the shell (you should hear a "click" once the hole is in place around the "pillar" for the screw). And then you may be able to close the shell and test. -

I've just shared a new shell that will fit in another post but just in case : https://www.atarinside.com/blog/index.php/new-shell-for-the-side3-cartridge-and-your-1200xl/ -
SIDE3 only running loader from SDX on 1200XL
Marsupilami replied to x=usr(1536)'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Not really. I've noticed that if you remove the shell, you can insert the Side3 PCB into the 1200xl. I have created a special shell in 3D (to print) that works. I will post this on my site and put a link here. -
SIDE3 only running loader from SDX on 1200XL
Marsupilami replied to x=usr(1536)'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks @Beeblebrox No, there is a UAV, a TFHH 512k Ram Expansion, a 800xl mmu, and the Basic RevC+800xl OS ROM REV2 ...so internally it's more a 800xl now. And TFHH also removed the heatsink, installed a linear voltage regulator (four classic 1N diodes) and a new 6800uf Cap. I have 2 other stock 1200Xl on which i haven't tried the Side3 yet. Just to be sure, can you tell me if it's the one in yellow above that i will need to change ? Thanks -
SIDE3 only running loader from SDX on 1200XL
Marsupilami replied to x=usr(1536)'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Hi, I have the same problem with my 1200xl and my 2 Side3. Any other cartridge will work including the good old Atarimax myide+flash but the Side3. Can you tell me which 74F08 to buy? On ebay there are 74F08N and 74F08PC. It may be the same thing but it is beyond my knowledge And B.T.W., are we talking about the one with the yellow square in the picture below ? Thanks a lot -
New Atari ST game, VergeWorld: Icarus is coming!
Marsupilami replied to RetroBones's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Hi, Is this project still in progress? There has been no news for a long time. Thanks -
Thanks Yes it will be me a cool frame on my desk and a Christmas decoration Basically it's just 4 8x8 led matrix like this : https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07Z7RGHNF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (40€/$) Plus an arduino or an esp32 (around 5 or 10€/$) So the budget is roughly 50$ maximum...and time. It's still a work in progress but it's pretty good
