  4. That sounds like a lot of work for the cents Atari used to pay to the programmers! [ 09-04-2001: Message edited by: osbo ]

  7. Now... how the heck that cart ended up in a thirft store?
  8. quote: Originally posted by Ze_ro: I've seen a decent amount of these pads on eBay lately, but the same guy is selling 10 sets of them for $30 each, and is claiming them to be "ultra rare" They're NOT worth $30, and I really doubt they're that rare. --Zero That's what I did pay... and they are all right... (brand new)
  9. I did played Space Invaders in PAL (back in '84) but the TV was black and white... so go figures... I can't tell the difference...

  12. I wonder how did the programmer then test the game it's working on, I mean, in 1977 they didn't have a PC with an Emulator, or a Supercharger... p/s I'd love to see the game's code
  13. that happends to me as well, I drove 350 miles (700 in total) just to find some 5200 carts ($3) and a BUNCH of Combat and Missile Command

    What to do???

quote: Originally posted by Malix: Ok Atari is the king of all consoles and collecting is great. I have a blast with this as well as playing my PC,DC,NES,SNES,PS,PS2 and genesis. Right now I could care less about games or gaming and I was hoping you guys had some ideas on how to get me outta this funk. Anything would be helpful. Thx yeah, I got that feelings sometimes, so I stick my Frogger cart in my 7800 and I try to pass my 5.000 points barrier. And when I'm not playing, I'm searching for atari info in the net, browing on eBay and checking out my stuff for sale... and when I'm not home, I'd like to go to the thirft...
  16. quote: Originally posted by halogen8: thanks for the quick response. i saw a 7800 controller at a flea market, and thought about getting it. the 2600 joystick is ok, but the design is bad. my left hand aches a lot after just a few minutes of play. get a joypad, they are better than the regular 7800 controllers.
  17. quote: Originally posted by halogen8: Anyone know if a 7800 controller will work with a 2600 console? yeah, but it'll only work with games in wich you only use 1 button. If you need two, then you got a problem...
  18. Same here... even with in my 7800 all my 2600 games works.
  19. quote: Originally posted by Scott Stilphen: It's possible the version that Charlie (the programmer) has is more complete than this one. Wasen't that cart the only one? There's more copies out there?
  20. quote: Originally posted by Tempest: Well the prototype is only 80% complete, I think those issues would have been fixed before the final released. I too find it frustrating, but it's still a blast to play. It's like the other game he programmed, Reactor. Hard to play but fun as hell. I try not to judge prototypes unless I know they're at least 95% complete. I think this one would have been a winner if they had finished it. Tempest I never understand Reactor
  21. I just finded out that Dragster it's AG-001

About the VCS units, does the Serial number may help in this way ? I don't know... but I'm pretty sure that's a lot!
  23. Maybe the most amazing thing it's that they started the company with 250 bucks... am I right? And another thing that it's really amazing that those beautifull pieces of software that we play, mostly were done by one or two guys.
  24. I was just sorting out my carts (72 so far), and I notice something, in Activision carts, some of them has a AZ-#, others AX-# and the third ones AG-#, why the different category? (I guess it is a category) OsBo
  25. My four switches woodgrain uses only one PCB, and it's smaller than the jr, the 7800 and of course the 5200. [ 09-02-2001: Message edited by: osbo ]
