WHAT?!!!?11! See this is why having kids was a bad idea (kidding, I love my kids) I did get time to play games. I was able to buy interesting devices like the DexDrive. However I lacked the imagination to go online and learn about interesting hacks to save games like bringing back Aerith. I'm glad to know it exists though and since I have the PSX and FF7 discs, maybe I'll look into it. Totally unrelated, but I should probably look for a copy of THPS3. I get the feeling they're going to cost a lot more in the coming weeks. xD

Yup. I actually scoured six different stores in my area before I found ONE that had it and willingly paid $16. The good news is that the Tonyhax team has found a lot of other exploitable games so if THPS2 or 3 gets too expensive, it's easy to use something else!

It's freaking amazing that this is happening in 2021. Glad I saved my DexDrive... I actually think I have a computer that it will work with!

Truthfully I found my Dex Drive while I was setting up my old PS2, but I couldn't figure out how to plug it into my MacBook, and any old IBM PC compatible that I used to use it with died a death long ago. Back in the day I used it to hack Final Fantasy save states so I could get Aerith back, go in the debug room, and other fun stuff like that!

Wow, that's a good point about how this would have been "Who's Jackie Chan?" moment when this was released. I was only vaguely aware of Supercop before I saw Rumble in the Bronx. Looking at Jackie Chan's movies on IMDB... wow. Long list.

LOL 6:03 "True to the stunt master that he is" Nice! Excellent call out! He's pretty immune to fall damage in his movies, too.

    Really enjoying your vids!

I appreciate it Mezrabad, thanks for your support. On a micro-sized channel such as mine, every view and every viewer counts! :)

Interesting! I never knew that about the Ballblazer chip. (I've got a a Ballblazer cart though, so I guess I'm not worried.)

I actually thought I'd lost my CC2. I hadn't seen it in quite sometime (years, at least) and only recently found it again in a box of Intellivision carts. I think I put it in there during a brain fart thinking it was CC3. (which looks totally different, of course, but brain fart)

Oh I've got a Ballblazer cart too, but for the convenience of playing the ROM (or any homebrew that uses it) it's nice to have the chip in there. :D

Oooh no, I think playing it on the Analogue Mega Sg is great. I'm just saying there's a certain feel to holding a single cart and saying "oh, hey, I have this game." - I have a Cuttle Cart 2 and an Uno and I still enjoy finding actual 2600 carts to play instead of just finding the game on the multi-cart. I don't do that for every game (hell, i can't) but I always play my original Adventure cart for Atari VCS just because it's a cool feeling. xD

Oh hey, did you send yours to Jesse (a/k/a Crossbow) for service? I know he's worked on a few Cuttle Cart 2's including mine. That memory card slot at the top is a little fragile, and they didn't come with the sound chip for Ballblazer built in, so I had him add one while he was at it. There aren't many out there in the wild -- he told me it was something of a rarity AFTER I had dropped it in a standard envelope and the postal service nearly lost it. OOPS! Thankfully all was well in the end.

Love it!  This is a game I played at my friend's house BITD...It was one of my Favorites 'til I discovered Dragon's Fury (AKA Devil's Crush, but on Genesis) and Dragon's Revenge (The sequel).

Damn, I never knew Devil's Crush and Alien Crush were on Genesis! I have to check that out now.

  7. Good haul of pristine Sega Saturn games and boxes! The Golden Axe problem would have been so disappointing to me, to have found it but it will not boot. I would have tried to boil the disc for 5 seconds, which has worked for me in the past, or at least taken it to get resurfaced, but oh well. The boiling actually worked most often on DC games, I'm remembering. It's like gunk hardened in the tiny grooves or something.

I mean I thought about resurfacing it at a couple of local places that would probably do it for free, but then I thought "What if it still doesn't work and then they ask me if I tried to clean it?" I decided to just return it as is and not have to explain that I did anything beyond what they did.

  8. The wrinkling on the manuals is due to the empty space between the disc tray and manual themselves. They bow inward and it causes them to crease and just not fold right over the years. I've started to save and collect pieces of foam from work that I can then cut into shape to match the foam that some games came with as a filler for that empty space.

I wish I could do the same! I don't want to stick anything inside the cases that's too thick or would expand and make them bow out and crack. These things are so fragile!

  9. Yep. I learned the day had finally arrived because a Rerez video appeared in my Youtube recommendations. I updated the firmware last week. Played my first game of Starfox in a while.

I used to be really good at Starfox. Now I suck, but, in my defense the pad I was using was a little iffy on the down and right.

I need to get the SNES mini Starfox 2 rom, so I can finally play it after all these years.

I haven't found the ROM from the mini yet, but a nearly complete Japanese beta ROM with an English translation patch is out there and works.

  10. Awesome score! Alleyway has always been one of my favorite Game Boy games for when I have a lot of time to kill. It's a mellow relaxing game that can be played for an hour or two before you run out of lives once you get good at it. :)

Well put. It's a mellow, relaxing, inoffensive game, and I really like the packaging. It's the sort of techno-futuristic late 80's early 90's encapsulated (pun intended).

  11. LOL, yeah I went out of my way to go to TRU Saturday just to see 10% off and I walked back out. I also went to an FYE that is closing and basically left empty handed (I grabbed two things). I looked at a Looney Tunes DVD there that was 30% off. It was priced at $14.99. I literally just looked at the same dvd at Walmart for $7.50, needless to say I did not buy it. Even w/30% the DVD's are still overpriced.

I didn't walk out of TRU totally empty handed. I got a couple of World of Nintendo items but still felt like I didn't get "a deal" because only 10% off still amounted to nothing.

  12. Now there's a video I can get behind.

It's only 1 minute long and is just a scan of the shelves! Perfect! (Not joking)...

Worth noting that IMO, Even though there is PS2 stuff...There might only be 2 fun games in that whole store!

My goodwill is roughly the same but may include XBOX and lots of Wii stuff. OTOH, I was in a pawn shop yesterday and was surprised to find SNES, Genesis, NES Games and even Atari carts...I only glanced as that wasn't the reason I was there and they were about to close...It was the usual suspects, as far as Too Many Sports games and the most fun games were for Atari, which were probably the cheapest too, but I didn't have time to even get prices...

I did find Atari 2600 games in a pawn shop recently, but they wanted $10 minimum for even Combat. I shrugged it off and left without buying anything.
