  1. If it works on all others and only fails on a certain device and it's variants... then...
  2. The questions that were asked might be the things to add or edit in the work. If it helped one it may help many.
  3. Go into webui config and turn HSIO divisor down on fujinet and try again. Remember SpartaDos X can not do divisor zero for normal disk operations, while it's pclink driver can. Older Sparta Dos Variants needs even slower SIO rates. u1m overides the OS SIO with it's own HSIO This will help you troubleshoot or at least help you get working until you solve the issue. Also, make sure the power supplies are standard Atari Supplies all plugged in to the same outlet. I have seen traco and other dc to dc converter mods in disk drives etc interfere with High Speed SIO on other devices.
  4. There would be an Atari in just about every hand about now. That's what would have happened. They could have done the Amiga without keyboard legally but didn't, Trammy said no. It would have eventually unified a sector of market under that architecture. That is sort of what the clones did for other architectures. The prospect of both companies making the machine would have lead to one or the other eventually folding in to the other, or the proliferation to other manufacturers as well. Atari would still be here and it's bench innovative products would have likely been revisited and came to fruition. Puffer is Pelaton, Phones et el. etc etc. You know the drill.
  5. can of tuner cleaner if it's the channel switch or antennae switch box. Share all the details and connections.
  6. The white brick is easily re-build-able and is one of my favorite supplies.
  7. but how about adding the effect all the way around the inner edges of the box instead of removing it? could look interesting
  8. I'd try the Atari RF cable with the taroid coils and make sure the shields were on and the select different channels on the Atari RF mod and display a few times, it the tuner has frequency control you could try dialing it in. more things to do but I'd start there. Then we move on to transistors, 4050, and work our way down. add in the monitor jack components and the socket etc and see what they produce. If you have a scope et al grab the FSM, SAMS, etc and dig in.
  9. Wifes' parents were married here and lived nearby, We have this on our wall and have the painting as well. Changed very little over the years. You want the picture from a nearby vineyard and wine label?
  10. Make sure SIO speed limiting caps are removed on the problem 600XL Make sure the U1M is configured exactly as the other machine is every last way, firmware, jed, etc. and all enable / disables etc match once that's done, either it should be working or troubleshooting can begin. are you NTSC or PAL?
  11. That NIB Unit does not look sealed NIB, it looks re packaged. The other Brochures aren't there, but it depends on Year, The Olympics Box might have had some other paper in it , like the catalogs etc. but I think most others had them as well
  12. a good number of the disks are showing a scratch or piece of hair in the same location of the picture. Either it's in the lense or something is causing it.
  13. Wait a second? Making a dedicated tape player? So you just want to play an Audio tape? No reading or sending of Data? Does the tape player have it's own speaker? If that's the case, just motor and ground to turn it off and on. Audio if it has not speaker... otherwise my post above is for everything as a full data cassette tape player/recorder with or without mods should need
  14. It needs an 850 interface and a Type'N Talk to work. So it looks like the software is good. It knows there isn't anything attached.
  15. A nice metal mesh screen on the inner case surfaces and a gentle light inside would really show off you PCB as well. Would really be sharp!
  16. Looks like the issue is pretty much solved, but it would be interesting to see the VBXE music if not for this but another project, perhaps different music players etc. stereo beeper stream as some refer to gtia music etc.
  17. I had dig down to signature restrictions and tick a box and save it, still did not work! So I ticked the box and saved it again... now I can see signatures again. Very strange.
  18. Is what I see, whether it's seamonkey or firefox or chrome
  19. This is one of my signatures and is currently set... _The Doctor__ ebay can & will eat your lunch if you are Not a top seller w/discounts, bonuses & free listings! connect to #Atari irc through telnet middlebox at irc.atarinet.com 400 for ascii Don't treat people like a football is all I'm saying....... irc.atarinet.com 800 for vt100, ansi, and ICE-T !! I don't see any signatures inside messages anymore, so either there is an incompatibility, setting, miss-configuration, or some form of blockage is going both ways. No signature from me and no signature from you. Is my signature there at the bottom like it should be?
  20. are you sure? I don't see signatures anymore, at least not with seamonkey https://www.van-radecke.de/STUFF/tfhh_HW_info.pdf I hope that's current one.
  21. Might be a couple of things FujiNet Option Key use is a matter of timing for where when and how long you press it down to enable / disable BASIC Post the actual .atrs you are using with your FujiNet so we can give it a whirl
  22. Spray on, paint on and mesh shielding materials can still be had and applied today. Most upgrades made in 2023 are low enough profile and have layered boards with large power and ground plains that can act as mass and shields not only for themselves but underlying PCB's. I've used stand offs to raise shields, bent or bulged shields and have gone the tin snips route for some things. If the upgrade is in and of itself a shield some have cut the hole and left the flap on or placed the cut out pieces under the bottom shield so they could do what they want with it later. I also recollect some people using the backing metal on some keyboards as a shield by running a wire to it and in fact Atari did so on some models with a wire to the cartridge doors and keyboard backing plate as well. the bottom shield with tabs bent locking in the PCB affords shielding across the bottom and some structural support to the PCB bracing the outer edges fully and on some models the shield has internal stand offs punched into the shield so their added support will be in place for the large PCB. The keyboard itself still needs support. for those not making full contact or lacking/having been omitted when they came in to ERC ACS, AFARC or ARSC- The foam or rubber supports would get installed. The keyboards showing too great of a degree of deflection would get replaced. The reason was to prevent a return for failed keyboards in the near future as traces would wear thin or stress fractures from fatigue at the pads and switches depending on model. In modern times the XE's really do see a greater failure rate on keyboards etc, I'd suggest once they have their replacement mylar to ensure the keyboard is supported by not only the case standoffs but the shield tangs that perform a dual role of support and static protection. Some XE's had the same rubber feet you see on the bottom on the case/disk drives etc. on the shield in various points for support and have had a mention when noticed from time to time. I was asked about that at some point on one of the forums or online meetings. It was interesting in that some one thought they were spare replacements for when a foot was lost etc like the extra button you get with a suit/jacket or some other article of clothing these days. If you see tale tell circle and the keyboard moves a bit etc. they might have been peeled off or fell off etc. On the bottom half of shields that had two of those in them, a person might consider trimming any legs that might touch them or ensure they are straight and will go into the already pierced holes. It would be best if they were placed to only contact the mask but that isn't always the situation. Just some more random memories that surfaced.
