I sent Mr. Robinett an email thanking him for programming Adventure and telling him how much I enjoy it and he was kind enough to reply and to forward the following article that he had written a few years back about video games so I thought I would share it for anyone like myself who had never read it before.
This article just gave me chills...that's hilarious that he quit. And I never knew Superman was derived from his game code
Thanks for sharing this
I really enjoyed Funco...I always took their monthly pricing and played it like the stock market, buy cheap and wait till the value went up....got a lot of free games that way. Sometimes I'd see a price cheaper elsewhere and buy it just to nail better trade credit...this went on for years, lol
I would assume that RE on GBC got cancelled because Resident Evil Gaiden on GBC was garbage and didn't sell well. IGN gave Resident Evil Gaiden a 4/10. I would imagine you aren't missing out on much.
As for Biohazard 1.5, what is that exactly?
One other thing. I saw a while ago that someone sold the disc that had the unreleased Dreamcast Castlevania Resurrection game on it. Does anybody know what happened to that? Someone spent over $500 on it iirc.
hmm..Resident Evil GBC was I believe made before Gaiden by Virgin...don't know why they pulled the plug though.
Biohazard 1.5 =/= Resident Evil 2 scrapped beta with Elza Walker and Leon Kennedy as the protagonists and had a completely different storyline and alternate maps and backgrounds couple extra items like grenades...it was assumed to be about 80% finished.
Was that the Castlevania for 2000 with Sonia Belmont?
Interplay grabbed my attention when they put out J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings Vol. I on the snes...I spent weeks cracking the password system on it which resulted in the death of many Black Riders..
Years later I found the PC versions of Vol I and Vol II (made before the snes version)...strange they were completely different
Maybe it's for the best. Fan-made remakes usually turn out pretty faithful, but companies that want to make profit off it usually ruin the whole thing.
Yeah I played The Legend of Kage remake, it lacked all the charm of the original....
3rd generation...Castlevania II:Simon's Quest still gets played once a week. And Ultima Warriors of Destiny is high on the list. The Immortal, Zelda, Times of Lore, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out yeah..NesterJ gets much love on my PSP
Hmm...favorite underrated NES
Sky Destroyer (J)- I can't believe how addicted I got to playing this airplane game
Gu Ba Zhan Shi Xi Hua - action packed military gunfest oh.. and save the pow's
Bird Week- pure awesome
and I don't know why but I've always enjoyed The Immortal...
I'm not to sure about getting Ultima I running but I was trying an emulated sega master system ver. of Quest of the Avatar and it's pretty nice. Funny every time I play this game I always screw up and use Mondain's Skull....
