  1. Absolutely correct... I also remember many of the catalogs sporting the "Sears Best" logo for the Atari. One year, 1979 or so as I recall, one of the catalogs made the news, because someone at the printers used a pencil eraser to spell out an obscenity on the photo negative (it was on a curtain) that went to print in the catalog (I am not sure if it was a Sears or JCPennys catalog though). I recall after we saw the story on the news, I quickly looked it up in the catalog whereby my mom ripped that page out of the catalog and told me not to be telling my classmates and such about it. Pretty funny in hindsight.
  2. Still, no comments on the boxes. They look to be plastic clam shell
  3. That too I suppose... the spring wish book had the swimwear.
  4. I was 12 and went bed every night with the sears catalogue underneath my covers with a flashlight... dreaming... btw, look at those cart boxes...different

  6. Interesting. So ODST is being held back due to financial reasons. Bummer. Not problem there asi stil have my 360 in the back hooked up. Doesn' really get played much any more.
  7. Halo ODST? Thought this was.I think you can buy it digitally. Tried it tonight. No go.. but Halo Reach. Yes...
  8. Cool... just ordered this for my 3DS. Thanks for the info.
  9. I just picked this up over the Black Friday sales and gave it a go. I figured that for $15 it can't be all bad. It's funny that the mention of "ex-Metroid" developers. This was my initial impression of the game so far, in that it had a distinct Metroid feel. I'm not very far into it, but the battles seem a little tedious, but other than that, I'm having a good time with the game. The robot dog is treated like it is a living being kind of bothers me and even behaves so. This is a big annoyance to me. I like suspended reality in my games, but for some reason this bothers me. But, then again, so did Muffit on Battle Star Galactica (If it were me, I would have short circuited that mutt and exiled Boxy to another ship). So the realist in me has to overlook this annoying bit and move on with the game :-) I just checked some of the reviews and the main complaints are about load times and some graphical issues. The graphics seem just fine to me, but the load times are a bit annoying. Had I paid full retail... which I never do anymore... I may have a bad taste in my mouth as it certainly isn't a AAA title. YMMV of course.
  10. I think if you wait, these will be $10 each at some point. Maybe BF sales! Love your avatar. I searched and found that graphic... Funny stuff!!
  11. Bug!!! Playing missile command at2600 version on the xbone. The wave where the sky is yellow, the missiles are invisible... wtf!!
  12. So far I'm enjoying it... Played some Galaga as well. But I already have that numerous places. But, a first to play it on the XBONE. The bumping mechanics are interesting... The fact of the matter, is that I am getting old and my reflexes ain't what they used to be, so I am having a fun time to keep up with the fast pace. Makes regular pac man look like slow motion... and I suck at that as well. In any event, the bright colors and music are really cool and retro (yeah, lots of eye candy). Epileptic seizures.. yeah for sure, Be careful. I have no complaints. I really love when they up date the classics like this. Not really have played the previous ones, other than in a demo, so I really can't compare. But, hey, it only cost $20.. I will get my monies worth for sure.
  13. This might be old news. I just saw this announced a day or so ago. http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/12/12887730/pac-man-ce-2-review-pc-ps4-xb1 In any event, I picked up a copy for the XBONE on my lunch break (price is right). I passed on the previous releases as they were digital. I like physical media (call me old fashion). It looks awesome. We'll see if it is any good.
  14. I saw this at the show. I was impressed with the 3D effect. Not sure I'd pay the $49K asking price... But, the one at the show may be the only copy in existence. I knew I should have slipped it into my pocket when no-one was looking Seriously, that was a nice booth, bought some of the new games. Thanks gentlemen.
  15. Just purchased a 1tb drive off of Amazon ... $50 includes the install bracket... Should be here tomorrow. Still a cheap PS3 for $150. BTW: Seen some $100 PS3s at a target in a neighboring town.. Sounds like this is corporate wide... Wish Nintendo would do this with the WiiU when the NX hits the streets :-)
  16. The Target in my neck of the woods had PS3s on clearance for $100 (12GB model). Included a free game (Call of Duty Ghosts)... The mgr told me they were clearing out there remaining stock of PS3s and Xbox 360s. I picked one up as a backup. :-)

  18. Just got my import version in the mail... I love it. Next gen ... its a stretch. But it is a decent shump and looks great on hi-def screens of today. YMMV.
  19. I'm not doing a D/L... I reading mixed reviews on this as well.
  20. Coming stateside soon to XB1 according to this: http://www.dualshockers.com/2016/02/25/xbox-one-exclusive-raiden-v-will-be-released-in-north-america-and-europe-after-japanese-launch/
  21. Good deal... I just picked up another Xbox yesterday. Clean as can be. Was marked $5.99 at the local Goodwill, but they were having a 50% off yellow tag sale... Soooo I picked it up for $2.98 and tax!!! Less than what the used A/V cable cost me. Bonus... when I got home and hooked it all up, "Dead To Rights" game was still in the machine ... A game I didn't have :-) Almost the best thrift store deal I have ever gotten. Only topped by my $0.69 Atari 2600 I got years ago at a 90% off sale at another thrift.
  22. What I would love to see someone do, is something along the lines of Super Mario Maker. One could design their Adventure and share it. Probably not possible on a 7800, but a PC based app with capability to D/L it to a Cuttle cart/Harmony type cart would be awesome.
  23. Sorry to bring this topic back up after a couple of years ... Yeah I know. Excuses, I have a hundred of them .... I've been extremely busy (work, family changes, traveling, etc... Have not even had much time to attend local game expos. But all that is changing now.) BUT, I moved last year to a log home on acreage (see it here) and am now finally in the process of setting up my "New" place (everything is still in boxes .. floor to ceiling in the new man cave). However, in hooking stuff up, I realized that I still don't have my Imagic Display working properly. I now have a proper place to display it and am really anxious to get this working now. I assume it is a bad cap or such. I don't have time to mess with it, but was wondering if someone in the greater Seattle area has skills to help me out. If you can help, or know of anyone locally, please send me a PM. We'll work out compensation, schedule and such. I'd very much appreciate the help. Thanks.
  24. How about a motorbike as well ? :-)
