I admit back in the day though I am a pc guy when these hit the market I was transitioning off Commodore Amiga and seriously considered one of these...........

Looks like you've got a Rev D iMac. All Rev A's (as well as B's) were Bondi. Check out http://lowendmac.com/imacs/index.shtml. And yes, closing the last open window on a Mac does not necessarily quit the application, which is nice for those apps that take a long time to load. My contention is the exact opposite on Windows (hello, MS Word).

Well, it isn't the first run, those were all 233mhz and had infrared. What I mean by Revision 1 is that its one of the G3's with a Tray Loading CD drive, But Wikipedia doesn't list Indigo as a color available for those. It looked like only the slot loading versions had that color.

  2. I wouldn't run SNES emulators on the PSP. For some reason I've never found a nearly perfect SNES emulator, they all run at like 50%-70% speed, and that drives me nuts. I don't understand, because they can emulate a GBA and Genesis almost perfectly....
  3. There is dosbox for playing old dos games on the newest of computers. you can also get USB floppy drives if you want to boot up an old game, but I'd rather get a few older PCs and use those. its like emulation vs real deal type thing for me.
  4. I don't think so. I think it might as well be a fact that the PC is the best open platform computing device ever, since they have been selling since 1981. Just sayin. I don't really have anything to say about the Raspberry Pi, except it would be a fun device to experiment with.
  5. The old PC game boxes are just awesome, big with plenty of material and disks, I need to get some
  6. Yeah, he's my favorite youtuber, and I'm actually watching his videos right now. I haven't seen very much PC computer videos compared to the Ataris, Commodores and Amigas. I'm not really into that stuff. Old PC stuff is where its at. I really want to get a 8088/80286 system sometime. My oldest computer has a 486.
  7. I don't know if its trying to appeal to "hardcore" Neo Geo collectors, those guys are probably buying the actual consoles or arcade machines. Really, I have no idea who its supposed to be appealing to.
  8. As far as PC games, I want to find more older games in a physical copy, like old 3.5/5.25 floppies and CDs. They are usually really interesting, especially the ones that use DOS. I'm starting to really get into old PCs since I installed DOS 6.22 on a spare hard drive on my Pentium MMX 200mhz that I've had since like 1997.
  9. whoa, that there is a novel. I think the whole Neo Geo X is stupid. It is an emulator. why buy the emulator when you can get it for free? Also, really, when was the last time that anyone cared that Roms are illegal in some cases? If someone wanted the "legit" Neo Geo Experience, they would buy an MVS or AES, not a $100-$200 hunk of junk. From what I've heard it doesn't even emulate some games perfectly, and that's something that should be expected from hardware that costs as much as it does. They are just cashing in on people with a name and old games. Why should I buy this system? What does it provide that I can't get elsewhere? Is the hardware worth as much as it is? What is it bringing in the future? I can tell you what, old roms on a SD card, nothing else that we haven't seen before.
  10. I have a Sony Trinitron, but it doesn't say "WEGA" on top, but they are generally the same from around that time. It has an "enhanced 16:9" mode in the menu if you ever play any modernish games with a widescreen aspect ratio. That mode pretty much squishes the lines together, resulting it what appears to be a sharper image and widescreen on your 4:3 tv. It doesn't cut the resolution on the top or bottom of the screen, as it just reduces the space between lines, it makes things look a ton better in widescreen.
  11. I find Donkey Kong Country 2 to be difficult. it just drives me insane after dying like 3 times at the boss, and before you can save you have to go through another 2 levels, and if you die again, you're sent back 2 levels before that boss you beat D: The Simpsons Barts Nightmare on SNES Batman on NES Vortex on SNES Castlevania 1 and 3 on NES and so many more.
  12. I just looked at my old blogs, and I have to say, my spelling and grammar is shit. No wonder I didn't do so well in English.

Shouldn't the 3 in your name be an e ? LOL

  13. I'd like to get a CIB Pokemon Gold, LttP, Kirby's Adventure and yars' revenge. Those are my favorite games and those are pretty much the only ones I'd consider shelling out the extra cash to get CIB.
  14. HD, as in 720p. eh. I recently got a 1920x1080 monitor for my PC, and there is no going back.
  15. FedEx and Newegg is the worst combination for shipping ever. its been over a week and I'm still wating for my monitor. 3 Day Shipping? Kiss my ass.

FedEx sucks. With my new video card, they left the notice on the BACK door which no one sees, messed up the date, and wouldn't send it to my work addy when i finally saw the notice cause ie 3 tries. Now I gotta go pick it up myself half a hour away.

    3. Tr3vor

      Tr3vor

do the require you to be at the door to pick up your shit every time, or is it just that one package?

I think every time, which is why I avoid FedEx whenever possible. At least UPS sends me a e-mail a day before so I can send it to work instead if need be.

but what nintendo did was compete with the 7800, which makes it more relevant to the subject of these forums.

  20. more like nintendo at this point = rehashes of the same games you have been playing since '85.
  21. one of the issues I have with the Wii U right now is that from what I've heard none of the games run in 1080p. even New Super Mario bros Wii U isn't doing 1080p. I think thats sad considering that its 2012. as far as processing goes I'm not that impressed at all. also there is only one game that would make me want to buy a Wii U at this point, Zombie U. the other ones are just ports from the 360 and ps3. idk. Ever since switching to my PC, I don't really see the upsides to a console, besides the price and ease to use, but for me there is a lack of flexibility.
  22. yeah its like comparing a P4 @3.8Ghz to a single core of my Core i5-2400 @3.1Ghz, of course, the i5-2400 will wipe the floor with the p4. I don't think we will find out for sure until a year or two into the console, when people figure out how to program for it and we really see what its capable of.
